Are they the same scale, or just similar?

SST minis are slightly taller. An MI trooper stands taller than a space marine. Depends what minis you want to use. The exosuits and marauders would be cool.

the game is great, really good ruleset and I like the minis too. Mongoose really dropped the ball with SST.

I bought a set of MI (the roughnecks) because I liked the series. Followed by a chicken hawk and an Ape marauder.

Currently, the MI get used as ISTs for my Daemonhunters (The personal troops of my Inquisitor).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

The rules are available again as Battlefield Evolution, with the intent to have one rules set ranging from WWII to Modern to sci-fi to zombies.

For scale comparisons, do a search for WeeToySoldiers; the blog had a great and comprehensive scale comparison chart, including 40k and SST figs.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

My buddy is using Mobile infantry as standard Guard. Mongoose was clearing out inventory, so he was getting 8 troopers for $5. Can't argue with that...

i'd check out this site. the guy takes great photos and did a pretty complete job comparing sizes of minis (at least until he stopped regularly updating the site about 2 years ago). the SST minis should be there.

Well I was going to take pics, but weetoysoldiers did it for me.

I was going to use the mobile infantry as guard vets, or possibly personal command squad. We'll see, but it's nice to have this comparison. Might have to buy some pig iron minis now. They seem to fit in well.
