This would have enough firepower to completely obliterate hordes, has enough anti-melee to flame away the green horde and enough anti AV14, including 2 terminator squads led by lords with 20 attacks + d6 attacks on the charge each, with 4+D6 inflicting instant death at Initiative 6, how would this fair against non hordes.

What will you do against tanks? Plasma isn't sufficient for killing anything but the lgihtest vehicles and 3x combi-melta is not even close to enough dedicated AT at 2000pts. Your Chainfists are good against tanks yes, but you have to catch the tank to use them. You drop next to the tank and it moves 12" away, leaving you unable to charge it. You'll then be stuck chasing it around hopelessly or until the opposing player decides to let you have it. Personally, I would change the vast majority of the combi-plasmas for combi-meltas. The meltas will also be better against things like Nob Bikes (instant kill is so important vs them).

I strongly suggest removing the combi plasmas in favour of combi meltas. combi plasmas aren't really worth it, and chances are anything you need to kill them with, either close combat will do better (and you'll strike first) or meltas will do better (tanks etc. much better if you can drop and then terminate them, rather than, as caffran points out, them just running away). rhino wall is good idea, but I would say the last squad would be better spent either A: putting points towards a pair of oblits, or B: making those CSM into plague marines. or khorne berserkers... those are also good, and with 2 squads of plagues and 1 of berserkers, you'd be pretty well off, i'd say. Against non-horde armies, as it stands, this list would be crushed, for non-horde armies are usually made up of landraiders or monoliths, or are mech tau or eldar. which you'll be so immobile to catch, they'll mop the floor with you. sorry for being brutally honest = /

oh, heavy flamer is a good choice. and you don't need to say "bolter geared" etc. they already have everything that it says they are equipped with (bolt pistols, bolters, frag and krak, and a close combat weapon... pretty good, eh?)... and I suggest tearing that combi plasma weapon off those rhinos, and giving a squad member one so he can use it more than once (even in the rhino, it has firing points) if you cannot afford it, meltaguns are better for that.

Ok now i have a total of 15 Melta Shots to bust open that AV14, and basically kill anything not immune to instant death at T4, any serious notable upgrades from this basic list?, removed the CSM 8 man squad, added 2 oblits and gave my chaos lords melta bombs incase 1 AV14 decides to try and run, they can chase it down and blow it up

I may be missing something as i'm new to all this... But Don't you have to have an HQ on the field at the start? Having both of them deepstriking obviously stops that.

No you don't have to have an HQ on the table.

I don't think this list is a power list. It is going to have problems manuevering around the field. Also Melta's are better than Combi-Meltas.

I think its ok, nothing special, just ok.

Whats the point of your lords? They cost a huge amount of points each for a model that wont do much. Terminator Sorcerers work out cheaper, can still one shot characters and have nice psychic powers. Demon Princes are also cheaper, can beat up vehicles and MCs and have nice psychic powers. Stay away from lords if you have the points to spend on HQ choices

Only 30 CSM isnt a lot at 2000pts. It will be all to easy to kill them through weight of fire and start forcing them to make break tests. Worse still is if they end up in combat because they will probably break and be run down.

Still only having 2 oblits and combi-meltas for anti-tank isnt enough. Against most mech armies your terminators wont come in in time before enemy transports have delivered their cargo on top of your 30 marines. By then all they have to go is break those squads under half strength and you will lose. Mech eldar and Mech Tau will wipe the floor with you.

Im not even sure you will go well against horde armies. Horde orks at 2000pts has around 90+ boyz + lootas + stormboyz. You cant put down enough fire power in the first couple of turns to deal with them before they get to you.

I like terminator heavy armies, but you need to back them up with decent range. At the moment you only have 2 guns that can fire over 24" and that isnt nearly enough.

I would change the lords for sorcerers if you still want them to DS (Mark of Slaanesh, Terminator Armour and Wind of Chaos or Lash. Saves you 60-80pts), beef up the other two terminator squads with the points you've saved the drop the 5 man terminator squad and pick up another 4 obliterators. That will give you more range to deal with threats on turn 1 as well as templates to deal with hordes while still keeping the hard hitting element of your terminators.

My dual lash list brings 12 meltas + 6 Oblits to the table, so I can put down comparable firepower PLUS two Princes with Lash. And thats in my 1850 list. I think its completely not worth it to upgrade your termies to champions, especially if the units are small enough that they can be shot down fairly easily (units of 4-5 aren't too hard to kill if they're dropping into the opposing lines). I don't think you need that many Chainfists either, I'd say 2 per unit is enough. The power weapons really do well for the termies since they can swing with them en-masse to cut through whatever MEQ type units they have to deal with.

I'd probably switch the Lords for Lash Sorcerors (I know you probably don't want to play Lash but its that good) to save a bunch of points, and then consolidate the units of Termies into 2 larger units (probably 2 units of 7 with 4x combi-melta and 3x Chainfist). Let the Sorcerors join those units, and then they can still Deepstrike if they want to. If you have any extra points pick up more Oblits or a Vindicator, as well as a second assault weapon in each of your troops units (a second flamer for the flamer units and a second melta for the melta unit).
