They deserve all the success they've had. This from an eternal pessimist whose very own home-brewed rules set was called Warmachine and had to be changed. Granted, when I first saw those boxes with a wizard and a selection of steam-powered golems, I was disdainful but a couple of years later, the store where they were being sold on the miscellaneous shelf had to make room for an entire PP section.
That being said, I came across this while looking through the Ral Partha Europe website. It made me go Hmmmm........

That's a Mage Knight figure, "Steam Golem", although the cannon is missing. (Ral Partha did at least some of the sculpting for Mage Knight, I don't know what the arrangement was, but if you break figures off their bases some have Ral Partha copyright).

The game had a great aesthetic (the figures were awfully pre-painted plastic but came up quite well repainted). We used various Golems in homebrew Warmachine campaign scenarios before, to represent laborjacks and such.

Well, Wiz Kids was done by one of the guys who started FASA (if i remember correctly) and started up right after FASA went under, so that's probably how the Ral Partha connection works. But Mage Knight did borrow some figures from Crucible, a game FASA put out a few years before they went under

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

FASA didn't go under. The owners saw no future in the gaming business and decided to get out while they were ahead, scuttling Ral Partha at the same time.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

The Typhon seems very 3d, the tail curving around the body like snake's.

Excellent stuff for the Everblight.
