Hey everyone. This will be my first post beyond the obligatory intro. Suffice to say, I'm a veteran of 40k, but this 5e and new Ork dex sorcery are new to me. Thus, I would appreciate any help that can be offered on my list. The idea is to be able to take all comers, and potentially become a tourney army.

HQ:

Warboss - 140 pt. (Soon to be represented by this model. *drool*)

Big Mek

He rides in the second BW And projects a green bubble of happiness around my vehicles.

Elites:

11 Burna Boyz - 165 pt.

They ride in the second BW with the Big Mek. I am undecided on this unit, and could easily take Lootas, as I have the bits for both handy. I know I'll be playing beakies a lot, so the thought of more Power Weapons appealed to me. Then again, in my Chaos days, I used to always take a havoc squad with 4 Autocannons, and absolutely loved the result.

Troops:

5 Biker Nobz (including Painboy) - 350 pt.
-2 PK
-2 Kombi-Rokkit
-1 Kombi-Skorcha
-Cybork Body
-Painboy
- Grot Orderly

Da Bosses' retinue. Pain on a stick, as far as I can see.

20 Boyz (Including Nob) - 180 pts.

-2 Rokkit Launchas
-Nob
-Bosspole
-PK

Ride in the non Killkannon Wagon. Some discussions on another forum have me sold on the idea of bringing some shoota boyz for extra flexibility. I think they'll do nicely with some of the 5e objective stuff and a Battlewagon to ride in.

I didn't have the Riggers at first, but decided that it would probably be for the best to at least take a couple. If I drop them, though, it's a few precious extra points.


Fast Attack:


3 Warbuggies - 105 Pts.
-Twin Linked Rokkit Launchas

Bullet-catchers and some extra Rokkits. Besides, I just plain like them.

2 Deffkoptas - 90 Pts.
-Twin Linked Rokkit Launchas

If there is a unit I am not sold on, it's this. I think I may need to give them a chance on the table before I make the final call, but losing these gets me an extra Nob biker and some vehicle upgrades, possibly including Rokkits on the Trukks or in the Trukk mobs. Alternatively, if I lose these and the Grot riggers above, I almost have enough for another 3 buggies.

Heavy Support:

Battlewagon - 140 Pts.
-2 Big Shootas
-Armor Plates
-Deff Rolla
-Grot Rigger
-Red Paint Job

This is to carry the Shoota Boy mob. It's big and armored to get them there, and can run stuff over, which is always good for a laugh. The Red Paint is to help minimize the oupacing that the Trukks will do.

Battlewagon - 185 Pts.
-2 Big Shootas
-Kilkannon
-Deff Rolla
-Red Paint Job

As I said, I expect to be going after Beakies, so the Killkannon seems like a big plus. This is where the Big Mek rides with the Burnas/Lootas, though I may change that, seeing as this one is going to be moving a lot slower.

Total: 1749 Points

Again, this is a first real attempt at a list, but I feel like it could work.

On the Battlewagons: Killkannon reduces the capacity to 12 models. I'd do away with it, make it like the 1st one. Maybe do away with the Armor Plates.

On the Deffkoptas: take em out. For those 90 points you're looking at barely 1 rokkit hit per round.

On the Trukks: No riggers, these things are disposable.

On the Shootas: I'd make em Sluggas if you plan to have them in a transport, Shootas if on foot. Big Shootas > Rokkits.

On the Big Mek: No grot oiler.

On the Nob Bikers With the points you took out from the rest, you can buff them up. No grot orderly, no combi-rokkit. If my numbers are right, you'll have around 190 Pts to play with... That's 3 more Nob Bikers, a PK and a Waaagh banner. Or something, I'm not sure. More killy.

I have a 12 Ork unit specially put together to ride in the truck. Are you saying I should bump the lootas/burnas to 15 plus the mek as well? The 60 points would trade out pretty evenly on that.

I have gone back and forth on shootas vs sluggas. What I find is that the Trukk boys are going to get stuck in a lot faster, so the extra shots aren't likely to matter much. With the wagons, I was thinking shootas, but I will likely try both, since now they cost the same points. For Big Shootas over Rokkits, I am nervous about armor. The PKs will help, but they can only charge so many things. Do you see me having enough anti-armor without them?

While I will likely give this idea a run to see how I like it, I don't know that I want a really big Nob biker mob. I know that they are insanely good, but I feel like they are becoming the new Ork cheese. 190 points are also another Trukk full of Boyz or a big unit of foot sloggers, so your point saving advice is well received, but I am not sure what to spend it on, atm.

HQ:

I am now considering Tankbustas, Lootas, and Burnas, since they are all the same points cost. Rides with the Mek in the second BW.

Ride in the first Wagon. Still have some Theoryhammer before I decide on Shootas or sluggas, and RLs or BSes.

Stripped these down a bit, and turned the second one into another Deffrolla Express. I'm considering dropping a Burna/Loota/Tankbusta or two and adding Red Paint and Armor Plates to these.

Still in the gluing/converting phase, so the list can change quite a bit if anyone has any bright ideas. I'm open to suggestion!
