Im either missing some IG legs, or it comes with extra body , no idea.
But all i know is i have lots of spare body + goblin legs laying around for years .

So i dug up all my old bits that belongs to unused army ( SM / IG / Goblin Orks )
and came up with this guy im pretty happy with.

I decided to give it a SM shoulder pad for helmet, because it reminds me of those aerodynamic
bicycle racing ones!

Ok...

He looks too much like what he is; loads of bits glued together...here's some stuff you could improve
1. His legs are way too short. GS might be your friend.
2. I can't make out the head, where is it from ?
3. The weapon looks unwieldy, also the hand is obviously not human.
4. Why didn't you just give him a Cadian head ?

You also might want to buy a squad of dead cheap WhFB Empire Outriders or Mounted Chaos Marauders, if you have spare IG bodies

Would look better without the shoulderpad stuck to his head. That just looks odd. The rest could paint up ok.

Hahah, the only thing I really have a problem with is the shoulderpad on his head.

Other than that, it's not half bad.

Hahahahahahahaha...that's a great model. The shoulderpad seems out of place (maybe use the Sentinel Driver heads instead). But frankly, I really like the lance. You could very easily call them Ratling Roughriders!

The shoulderpiece helmet can work here, you just need to hide its origin a bit better. Maybe de-rim it or hide the rim with decorations like feathers and such.

Some of your joins show too, which is just a housekeeping job.

Other than that, I find them pleasing to look at. Don't be too discouraged. I've seen much worse.

tbh i reli like it, im not for making everything perfect!!!

lots of people say stuff like "his legs are too short" "the hand isnt human" etc. etc. but i do exactly the same thing with mi leftover/spare bits, im always making random models, its fun. Now im not a good painter and im not that good with greenstuff, but all you need to do is put a little green stuff round the bottom of the torso, and give it a paintjob an it'll be fine

look guys, this may look like it sucks, but that's not the point. you need to make crappy models for the really good ideas- my desk at home is covered in absolutely terrible convershuns- so crap-looking i wouldn't dare post em here- but without them, some of the great ideas that i use in my other conversions would have never been spawned, and so making these bad models is simply a step forward to a fantastic model. i rest my case.

Well i dont Know too much on rough riders soo maybe they are also dwarves in this case but... I think on the GW website they made cadia Rough riders which were just cadians mounted on a SM Bike.

I dunno why everyone keep bringing up Cadia as the image of what rough riders are.

They had always been Attilan , Tallarn ( can only thinnk of these 2 atm ) but there are no limit to which world out of the mass emperium can produce rough riders.

well squats are midgets , or rattling etc etc.

What about death korps?

Anyway, that was the hardest I've laughed in probably three months.

People bring up Cadia, because that is the recognizable guard image now, as GW has marketed it that way and produced models to support that.

I use Tallarn Rough Riders in my ...Tallarn army, so I knwo there are differences.

The...thing you made looks like a glue bottle fell into a bitz box.

Why not just keep your bits until you have some better bits to make rough riders out of?

As for improving this guy?

-Lose the choppa on a pole, no way he could hold that upright for long, let alone lower it into a lance-charge position.
- Remove the Shoulderpad from his head (you did this already so good )
- Get him some shoes
- Get some different arms, they look way to out of place


Now if he is meant to be abhuman, then paint him up and show us. Often time one can't tell the true nature of a model until it is painted.

one thing about when i convert stuff, i dont take in consideration of what the bits are.
I take and add them because i like how the shape contributes to the conversion.
but i can see now its pretty negative to do :x

anyways, i found another shoulder pad ( OH NO! ) and will paint it up as soon as my basing dries

*PS its still snowy outside so im going to use brush on tamiya paint.... uhoh....

I think it would be alright in a Squat army, just add a beard i think ?

Just a thought on the helmets. To me they're just waiting to be trimmed into a rice paddy-esque sort of deal. Trim the ridge and smooth out the back, add a little green stuff strap on it and tada!

They sorta remind me of Rebel Soldier Helmets out of Star Wars..

well for one thing, the shoulder pad on the head really made me laugh, i think the model aint THAT bad. i mean, i have no problem with the whole rough rider squat but i must say, the weapon looks a bit odd. thats all though.

I made some changes , and finished painting it a few hours ago.
