Well, I've started up my Orks again after a long winter break. Hopefully I'll be posting more in a short while, but I wanted some input on my Mega Armored Warboss conversion.

Still very WIP...

Inspired by GW's studio model. Some parts are a total rip, but I tried to keep it original.

Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?"

Very awesome.

The only complaint I have about the model is that the drum clip looks very awkward placed at the top of the gun, but there's not much you could do to fix that (easily, anyway).

Pain is an illusion of the senses, Despair an illusion of the mind.

I like it very dynamic. Got to agree about the drum clip though

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

The pose is somehow stupid. The arms don't match each other or something. It seems he can't decide which one to use. But I like its stompyness.

Me like. I was planning on doing something similar myself, also inspired by that picture! Nice to see someone else's take on it!

I appreciate all the feedback... except maybe for "somehow stupid", which is a little vague. Anyways, the only update is I connected the two power klaws to the engine in the back of the suit and green stuffed the plastic arm. While there was little I could do as far as changing up the ammo drum, I did lower it a bit to make a a bit more flush with the shootas. Once I get the base paint on, I'll post some more pics.

It looks great, but the skinny neck part makes it look somewhat like a robot and not an Ork in a powersuit. Did he have some radical surgery and end up as a brain in a box, deff dred style? That would be pretty radical, but not outside the realm of Ork experimentation.

Wow!!! I'm in awe and envious all in one go! I'm using some of your ideas as I've been trying to figure out how to do my own boss as I'm not fond of the Thraka model. Your guy is a Supa Stompy/Choppy/Shooty Boss! I love it! "Dakka Dakka!!!"

I think you're pose is more Orky than the Studio Model. He's driving forward into da fightin'!

As far as the head, I found it in my bitz box. I believe its from the old metal Black Orc command set as the unit standard banner. The new Black Orc plastic box set should have a plastic head that is extremely similar and of the same basic size, so look at Warstore or other bitz traders.

I've been busy these couple of days, but I've finally stared to paint the warboss with, what I consider, a really sweet color scheme I found in February's WD on pg. 99. So far, its only his leg, but you get the idea.

Ok I don't know what happened to my response.
I like your conversion more than the GW one!

I think the ammo drum looks fine as is.
Your ork leg looks awesome, I can't wait to see it finished.
