Subject: Luna's mega armor Grot MK2 ( Final Updated Version)
Hmm, intriguing. Don't care so much about the model itself, but it does make me realise of some cool modelling potentials when combining the Tau Battlesuit with the Space Marine Dreadnought.
I like alot actually.
Grots Seem better in Mech suits than orcs, as Orcs cant shoot fer crap.
Grots are a lil bit better so kinda adds up.
And arnt grots like Gnoblars? always building Stuff?
Visually, I love the idea of grots in looted and modified battlesuits. Games-wise, I'm not sure what they should count as - personally I'd like the armour a little more modified if it's to count as mega armour, and those spindly little legs would need beefing up to handle the extra weight. Did you do anything with the hover engine vents at the back? Changing them to armour/engines would be good.
For a Grot Liberation Front style army, with grots counting not only as boring grots but also as various types of ork, models like this would be a grat way to represent big ork eqivalents such as meks.
Hmm, of course this could also count as a kan or dredd in any ork army
I love it ... its not orky enough but that can change easily enough .... IMHO it need battle damage and repair work ... the tau and SM parts are too well matched in for an ork ... i see them being a more hit till it fits ^__^
It's neat, but not orky at all, far too clean and neat. Needs to be more bitz together and ill working appearance. Basically, looks like the Tau stuffed a grot head on a Tau battle suit more then something podged together from a wrecked Dread. and a Battlesuit.
Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular."
hmm.... There are no spot left on the model that can fit more weapons... Just added the custom force field generator and its pretty much tipping over >< too front heavy
That looks pretty cool. I would like to see more pics, especially more of your weapon conversions. I had to look twice to see that that wasn't a railgun, but a melta with some added bitz.
Also: I think you meant "Mek" in Mega armor and not "Mech"? I guess it would also work as a killa kan.
Maybe he needs to have his head deeper between his shoulder blades. That might
be a personal preference, but I think it would look better than "goblin on tau battlesuit."
Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I feel you could get more out of this.

Final Version. Not enough space to add anything without tipping over :x
Increased the amount of Guns on his gun arm . Repositioned his Mega custom blasta.
Added Custom Forcefield Generator.
Added extra small arm [ to keep appearance with SAV-326 GRYS-VOK , its weird since they are all battle suit to start with.
SAV-326 GRYS-VOK is like a Robot in an exo suit o_- , hence the original smaller arm poking out ]

Luna, man, I gotta hand it to you - you convert some crazy-ass gak! But you do it in a solid way!
Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree fully with Skinnattittar. Cool idea though, without a doubt.

the model itself is pretty awesome. The idea is also awesome. Hell I even like the grot being a mek instead of an Ork. My only complaint is the grots head looks like it was cut off and glued onto the top of that suit. If you made it more "piloted" looking then I think that would really come together. overall tho its a pretty sweet mini

ahhhhhhh ! is the crises suit's original "head" a helmeted tau or a machine part?
i attached the head under the impression it was a suit literally lol. I dont have the codex
so i have no idea about the fluff about how the suit works.

Considering the size of your average Tau I suppose they sit in the torso of the crisis and the "head" is just sensory equipment.

I like the idea of a mega-armoured grot, but the fact of the matter is, conversions have to be elaborate enough that it's not obvios which kits you've used. This... just looks like a grot's head on a battlesuit. It doesn't look like a suit of mega-armour.
