I haven't been in the gaming scene since the onset of 4th ed but my recent modeling antics are reviving my will to play a bit.
My poison of choice? The Imperial =][=nquisition.

Thing is, when someone sees "Inquisition army" the fisrt thing they will say is either All Grey Knights or All Sisters.
I want to go the very opposite route.
No Knights.
No Sisters.
Stormies and Inquisitors only.

They will be made with a uniform theme: SWAT-style stormtroopers and official looking no-nonsense Inquisitors, drawing inspiration from stuff like the BOPE, SWAT units, and similar. Cityfighters to the core.

However as I've been out of it for so long I need some help on even relatively optimizing the list.
Any pointers, chaps?

It will be almost impossible to field an effective army due to the lack of heavy support- I have thought about to and im just going for whatever looks good plus some grey knights for landraiders/dreadnoughts

your best bet is to induct some guard so you can take tanks

Another option is to have the IG be the parent list, and take Daemonhunters as allies.

I'm a big fan of storm troopers in chimeras or rhinos. You can give them melta-guns and just charge at the enemy. I'd stay away from close-combat inq/retinue, but the Inq Lord with gun-servitors is pretty nasty. If you're willing to build on the chimeras, I think you'll find that the Inq Storm Troopers aren't all that bad of a deal. I think HBMC did an all Inq/Storm Trooper army. You may want to ask what his apprach was.

the only problem with Inquisition storm troopers is that unless your going for 5 man squads sisters are a better bargain. Specialy since they don't get the deepstrike, or infiltrate rules
