The hounds are what I envisoned the Flesh Hounds to be like - they're truly terrifying!

Hello There,

First off, I`d like to say a Happy New Year from all here at Forge World and bid you welcome to the first newsletter of 2009. We`ve a lot of great new models and releases planned for this coming year, and we thought we would start the ball rolling with something monstrous for the Renegades of Vraks, and some Red Scorpion’s accessories that we`ve had a lot of demand for from Space Marine players.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

Hounds of Xaphan with Khornate Ogryn Handler
New for the treacherous and Chaos-tainted Renegades of Vraks are the Hounds of Xaphan with Khornate Ogryn Handler, available for pre order now for release the week commencing the 26th of January. Designed by Daniel Cockersell and Mark Bedford, the set comprises a special Ogryn Handler marked by the symbols of the Blood God, and three bestial and mutated hounds, as well as a length of brass chain, which can be used to join the models together. The rules for this savage unit can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 6, The Siege of Vraks Part 2 as part of the Servants of Slaughter army list.

You can see more pictures of the Ogryn and Hounds Here.

Red Scorpions Land Raider and Rhino Doors
Available for pre-order now for release the week commencing the 26th of January, we also have some cool new Red Scorpions Land Raider Doors and Red Scorpion Rhino Doors sets. Designed for use with Games Workshop standard plastic tank kits for the Rhino and Land Raider, they can also be used with other tank models such as the Whirlwind that use these models as a base. These highly detailed doors featuring lavish iconography specific to the Red Scorpions Space Marines Chapter have been designed by Simon Egan and are great for personalising tanks and adding an extra level of detail to your armies and modelling projects.

You can see pictures of these doors sets Here.

Those Hounds are pretty damn cool. Of course it is Forgeworld, so they are probably $25 each...

Pretty cool. If these things are showing up, I wonder what is going down on Vraks. Wish I knew the story.

The dogs look great. The ogryn is also decent, only the head is suffering from the huge horns of chaos.

The unit is really great looking, but so is the price tag.

The hounds look awesome, and they'd make great Dire Wolves in a Stirgoi VC army (if such things still existed). The Ogryn is 'meh,' and are the Red Scorpions in such demand that a conversion kit is worth bothering with?

Looks like that Ogryn is carrying a bag of Xaphan Scooby snacks. (skulls)

Og "Go rip that guys face off."
Hound "Raa uh"
Og "I'll give you a Scooby Snack."
Hound "RO. K."

I might have to get a set. These look fantastic.

Apparently they are, considering how many Scorpions armies have been popping up since last year(I think there's 3-4 blogs for them on Warseer, the guy reviewing the Battle Foam got them for his Scorpions, and I know two people that have Scorpions armies personally, I'm sure there's more I don't see, too).

£31.32

$43 USD
$55 CAN
$66 AUS

That is not a bad price considering they come with the Ogryn. An individual metal Ogryn is $25 CAN.

Nice models. Stupid comment but GW's dog-monsters have been getting better. Undead, Chaos and now the pimple-dogs are all quality sculpts.

Flipping around the FW site, I like the size of the Khorne Terminator Lord although I would probably do a head swap and give him a decent cape. Furs or something. Not to go off-topic.

Ogryns and hounds = very nice indeed

wish FW wasnt so damn expensive, find it too hard to justify the cost to myself, let alone the missus.
