Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks:
I'm pretty new to 40k, and one of the things I've learned is under contest, and I don't know the right answer. If anyone has a citation or something so I know the way its "supposed" to be, I'd appreciate it.
My understanding is that I must show my opponent my army list, but I'm not obliged to tell them the contents of each transport, although I do need to have the transports marked in such a way that someone can later identify that what I said was in a particular transport was in that transport.
Specifically: I have 3 Ork trukks. Trukk 1 has Ghazgul Thraka and 10 individually equipped Nobs. Trukk 2 has 12 'Ard Boyz, one of which is a Nob. Trukk 3 has 12 regular boyz in it.
Obviously, the trukk with Ghazgul and the nobs in it is the biggest threat. In a tournament I just participated in (Rogue Trader Tournament) which was one of my first tournaments, I was told that I had to tell my opponents what was in my vehicles. Specifically (and obviously) everyone wanted to know which trukk had Ghazgul in it so that they could blow the crap out of it and keep him from zooming up the field into close combat.
The entire REASON I have three trukks out there in the first place is to give Ghazgul and the Nobs a 66% chance of not being the ones shot first. So now I'm stuck.
The people in the store where I primarily play say that its ludicrous to have to tell someone what is in my transports; I'm not obliged to do anything other than present my army list.
The people in the store where I played the tournament say that in all the tournaments they've been to (Grand Tournaments and Game Day RTTs) telling what is in your transports is standard.
If the latter is true, then I'm wasting points on trukks trying to obfuscate Ghazgul's location.
Please help, and if anyone has specific rulings or written rules, or a FAQ to link here, I'd be most appreciative.
-CD

From the core rules, Page 92 of the BRB:
"In the same spirit, always make clear to your opponent which squads are embarked in which transport vehicle."

Yes, it's true. In the US GTs, the standard is full disclosure. So you're going to have to be a bit more cunning than just rushing the trukks forward. Say hide Ghaz's trukk behind the others, or use hllls/buildings that block LOS to protect the trukk as it moves across the table. Ya know, that kinda stuff.

Usually people tell eachother which squad is embarked on which transport. In my gaming club we occasionally play games without the opponent knowing which squad is embarked in which transport, but this is just a house rule. Anyway, in your example, your transports are open-topped, which means your opponent should always know which squad is embarked in the transport!

Don't put faith in having your trucks last, that's not their purpose. Put your troops in them like you've been doing and get those babies across the board ASAP. Even if they get popped, you're generally going to have a good survival rating; the boyz will only take a wound on a 5+. The only real issue may be pinning so it rides on your Morale check.

In previous editions, you didn't have to disclose transport contents. I remember someone in second edition with a Genestealer cult army having three rhinos in the list - one had genestealers and the other two didn't, but you couldn't tell which was which (he marked the underside of the genestealer one).
I think WFB doesn't require you to disclose magic items.
Some people still play with disclosing transport contents. 40k has gone to the 'full disclosure' method, and I prefer that.
Invest in a battlewagon. Hide truck behind it.

If the TO made you specify contents, but not everyone else, you've got a legitimate beef.
If the TO made everyone specify contents, there's not much to say/ do about it. His tourney, his rules.
In the future, contact the TO prior to the event to find out if there are any house rules in effect and how they interpret rules you may be concerned about.

This post should pretty much wrap up the rules portion of this discussion.
