Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

Got an idea for an army featuring Shrike, but at the same time I really hate giving up Combat Tactics as I think that its the best 'racial' ability that the marines have.....so I'm thinking about a list without the special character.

HQ

So how does it look....I got 25 pts to work with.

I dunno if the scouts/Speeder work or not....the Ironclads present more of a vehicular threat, and If I keep them in reserve they might stay alive long enough for a late game objective grab.

1 tac-squad has a Missle...thats the one that sits back on my objective.

spare 25 pts and dropped hunter killer missles can go toward 3x drop pods for the Ironclads after I scrounge up more points, but I generally hate to leave killy units in reserve as it cuts down on the time for them to do damage. I also like the idea of a turn 1 missle salvo.

Not to be argumentative/rude, just curious

How is this a raven guard army? It just seems like a SM army with 2 assault squads in it to me

Other than that, how are the tactical squads getting around the board? If they're walking, why field a multi-melta, you'll need to be stationary a turn just to fire it, at which point said target will have likely noticed and moved.

To me, your scorers seem too immobile and vulnerable, and your AT either has delivery issues (Tacticals) or is a one turn burst (HK's). Not so sure this list is quite right as of yet.

Finding points for transports for the scorers will go a long way towards improved the list

The fluff for RG says that they rarely field dreadnoughts, but when they do it's always via drop pod.

I'm not really sure if I like this list too much. Is your plan to march/run the tacs and iron clads towards the enemy?

A raven guard arm should probably be much more mobile and deepstrikey. You could add rhinos for the tacs and dps for the iron clads.

Also, why scouts with shotguns? IMO, you're probably better off buying transports than that squad.
