Pestilent Plague Marine with Blight Grenade

I was told that the league is combat patrol. Tonight (first game tomorrow) I was told we roll to see what we play @ 500.
I am facing a space marine player that is very good. I am not, so i have NO IDEA what to expect.
Here are two armies I am looking at taking that I have the troops for:
30 Shootas, 3 bs, nob pk bp
11 lootas
2 killa kans rokkitz
Big mek, kff, cybork, ha
20 shootas, 2bs, nob pk bp
20 shootas, 2bs, nob pk bp
1 killa kan kmb
I have 34 painted shootas, 3 painted kans (3 rokkit, 2kmb can switch) and a host of other orks.
I SO want to beat his arrogant butt tomorrow.
Please help!

But if we don't roll combat patrol I will have to take an HQ
Should I run the second list for that, a different list (advise) or run this:
Big mek kff cybork
8 lootas
20 shootas 2 bs nob bp pk
2 kans 1 kmb 1 rokkit 1 armor plates

I know nothing of the Ork sort, but I hate arrogant SM's. Go kick some tactical squad behind!!

If you have to take an HQ then take your 2nd take on your 2nd list:
Big mek kff cybork
8 lootas
20 shootas 2 bs nob bp pk
2 kans 1 kmb 1 rokkit 1 armor plates
This is a pretty good list. Lootas can be deadly for Marines and 20 shoota boyz with a big Mek and Nob can put a hurt on Marines in both shooting and close combat. Pay careful attention to what he is using, choose a priority target and eliminate it in its entirety if you can then go on to your next priority target. Also remeber to pay attention to the mission objectives, many players lose winnable games because they forget what the objectives are.
If not taking an HQ definetly take your 1st list. Good luck stompin the 'Umies

Eww...I see some awful ideas in here. :(
1. Don't take Lootas unless you're going to take all the Lootas you have, and proxy in a few models to get your full 15. Lootas *need* to be full-sized, and in cover. If you take only 8 for example, your leadership is only 8. You're going to lose 1-2 of them, end up with leadership 7, and they're going to break and run on a leadership test. Remember, 12+ = fearless. Proxy 3 of those big shootas in for 3 lootas and take 15.
2. Your KFF can honestly be subbed out for something more useful. If you're going to put that Big Mek in with your Lootas, then you want 15 lootas, a mek with a shokk attack gun, and you want them in cover. Believe it or not, an Ork gunline can outshoot a Tau gunline. Either maximize your shooting abilities here, or maximize your assaulting abilities; you can't really combine both - Orks can be good at ANYTHING, but they can't be good at EVERYTHING.
3. Shootas are a good choice - I read somewhere that a shoota boy is the most economical unit in all of 40k.
4. Alternatively, if you just want to beat the living $^ out of his space marines, take an assault army, and do this: Ghazghkull Thraka + however many nobs in a trukk with a red paint job. That's 1 troop and 1 HQ. If you can afford all 10 nobs, go for it - equip them differently if you can, give them 'Eavy armor so that they have 4+ and put a painboy in there. You now have a 4 wound HQ immune to instant death that can cover half the board in a turn, and he's got a 2+ armour save.
Turn 2, you deploy out of the trukk, split Ghazghkull off from the nobs, declare a Waaugh! Ghazghkull now has a 6" fleet and a 2+ invulnerable save. He also gets 7 strength 10 attacks on the charge - against his space marines you're going to need 3s to hit and 2s to kill.
Your nobs can go take out one of his other units. This is my preferred tactic. I played a 1300 point game last weekend, and I got to make a beautiful play of this - the space marine player brought terminators and some rediculous knight-captain or something, and everyone had power weapons. I broke off Ghazghkull and went and attacked his terminators and IC, while my Nobs went and dealt with his space marines. All those power weapons don't do anything against a 2+ invulnerable save, and I had 7 attacks during my assault phase - I think I killed 4 terminators. On his followon turn, (still with a 2+ invulnerable save) I killed his Independent character; the terminators tried to flee and I wiped them out.

I will respectfully disagree with Dashofpepper on a few of his points. I think his tactics work but not at this level game.
In a 500 point game you do not need 15 lootas which wil take up 175 points. While more orks are better the size of the game does need to be considered in choosing units and unit size.
Taking the KFF with the Big Mek does help and again in a 500 point game if you add a Big Mek with a SAG to a unit of 15 Lootas you are putting way to many eggs in one basket. In addition, do not let the name fool you. Shoota Orks are better at HtH then most other infantry units in the game, especially when backed by a Nob with a PK.
It would be nearly impossible in a 500 point game to take 10 suggested nobs, kitted out to take maximum advantage of wound allocation rules as that unit will be over 400 points by itself if done right. Mulitple units of Ork Boyz, with Nobz in them, backed up by some Lootas is definetly preferable to this suggested idea. I would suggest you only use the Nobs like this in a fairly large game.
Lastly, I believe Ghazghkull, while a very tough customer, only has a 5+ invulnerable save not a 2+. His regular save is a 2+. If he charges a unit of terminators and a SM character (presumably also in Termi Armor since he is with them, and armed more than likely with either 2xLC or a TH/SS combo) by himself more often than not he will end up a dead Ork, possibly before he ever swings. If he does survive round 1 and does get to swing in round two it will propbably be after everyone else does if he takes a single wound from a Thunder Hammer. Now put him into a unit of Meganobs or even nobs and you will have a different story but again, this is too expensive for a 500 point game as Ghazghkull is 225 points by himself.
