Conan for 360.....AWESOME.
Always wanted this game, but never picked it up because I'm not much for scrollers. Reveiws were generally favorable, but the big complaint is that its a "God of War" ripoff. Well, since I've never played God of War, and I'm a HUGE Conan fan (the only thing cooler than Conan, are zombies, the only thing cooler than zombies, is ZombieConan! ) ....I decided to pick it up at the used price of 17.99. I wouldve paid 60 bucks for this garbage! Awesome.
Ron Pearlman's voice acting as Conan 'fits' extremely well and gives me chills of satisfaction whenever good lines are given during combat. "I'll cleave your skull to the teeth!" "I've got no quarrel with you beast!" (when confronted by lions) "Back to the hells that spawned you!" (supernatural creatures). Even the guys you're killing....ground is SOAKED in blood gore and bodies yet they still come one "He's only one man!"....then you do a Parry and leap high into the air with your 2-handed sword and come down slicing the cur in half lengthwise with one stroke!
Animations are awesome, moves are great, especially the parrying moves. (if you parry and press the correct indicated button in time you have a spectacular slo-mo closeup of Conan dispatching his foes in a most gory manner) World is perfect for Hyperboria, even little things like "power up girls" that you free add to the atmosphere....naked from the waist up is a nice bonus. Nice pixels!
If you havent played God of War yet, and are an avid Conan fan....please pick it up. If you're an avid Conan fan and HAVE played God of War you probably STILL want to pick it up.

I think the reason that Conan slipped through the cracks is because it was offed as a God of War clone, that didn't do things nearly as well.
I had no idea that Ron Perlman did the voice of Conan in that game, though. That's pretty interesting.

I liked the demo and it is only $14.99 at Best Buy so I was thinking of picking it up.

He not only did the voice of Conan in the game, he did it for the upcoming animated "Red Nails" dvd.
But yeah, Conan?
Awesome game.
Age of Conan?
Not so much :(
I got it for my dad as a birthday present when it first came out, and it had some nifty little Conan graphic novel with it.
He loved it.

Oh yeah! I picked it up used for $10 at a local shop. I also never played God of War, so it was a hoot. I also love the Conan series in general, so that helped.
Nothing as fun as a "Dismemberments" stat at the end of every level.
Some of the Grab attacks and the Parries are just FUN.

I played the demo at my buddies, but i could never find it at the store or block buster. It was damn fine. Plus any game that has voice acting by Ron perlmen has my attention right away. Damn that cool voice. Damn it to hell.

Got it for the PS3, and found it pretty weak.
Now to be fair, I am a massive God of War fan (come on 3!) so I may be displaying a certain bias.
My biggest problem was that a single missed swing, and groups of enemies would just keep you out of the action, slowly hacking you into tiny bits. BORING!
