After getting back into Warhammer, I had many, many boxes to go through. Once I had a desktop and half a room's worth of floor completely covered with boxes and bitz of various sizes, I could get to work. I've started assembling some lobbas and two looted tanks, which will be in my P+M blog later. Something didn't feel right though; knew I had more bits. Going through the general family storage, I found my old Warmaster box. A giant cardboard box with dozens and dozens of warmaster blisters that I've never even touched. But... On top of the pile...

A about a dozen to two dozen 2nd edition metal ork boyz, in decent condition.

Now, most of the 2nd edition models are pretty forgettable, but I found two of my favorites.

Blood Axe Big Boss:

Bad Moon Big Boss:

And, something that for years was completely useless to me:

While these models are a bit of a treat, I knew I was still short. I knew that just before I put warhammer to rest, I was putting together an Ork army with about 60 slugga boyz in it, and the bitz were lacking for such a goal. I kept looking. I started going through unlabeled boxes and cases until I found...

BOO YA. Mostly orkz, but a good mix of random stuff as well, fantasy orcs, empire, marauders, space marines, Chaos space marines, etc... Just enough to spice up my footsloggers a bit.

So... Does anybody have tried and true methods for stripping paint off of their figures?

Good for you JDB, I wish I would find so many unused stuff at home
...wait, I do all the time

As fun as it is to mix old and new models in an army, I really do hope you'll just use the shokk attack gun for spare parts, because the old Mek is really ugly.

For stripping, good ol' ABS brake fluid. Let soak about a week, hit with a toothbrush and paint/soak again as necessary.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Yeah... It is a pretty ugly model; it reeks of the typical 2nd edition "heavy weapon pose". I am not fond of the current shokk attack model either, so if one day I decide to field one, I'll at least have a decent gun to start scratch building off of.

I'm not even sure what I'd do with the other two models... probably just clean them and paint them up real nice.
