Wow...putting biases in a poll?

That's pretty funny.

I'd say, simply due to all of the games available on the system, that the X-Box 360 wins, thanks to all of it's support. That, and even with the terrible new X-Box Experience, it still has a superior online component to the PS3.

The only things I'm missing out on with an X-Box are Metal Gear Solid 4, and the superior controller.

I agree with Chysoar, except about the controller part. I miss the original huge Xbox controllers...

Even so, the X-Box 360 controller no longer has the ridiculous mass of the original X-Box controller.

There's no denying that the pressure-sensitive buttons, more range on the triggers, and motion sensitivity (even though this has proved to be an all but worthless addition) make for a far superior controller.

Especially considering that you buy them for the same price.

I still haven't found a controller yet that's better than a keyboard and mouse. All the available buttons and the tight control of the mouse really make for a superior gaming experience. You also have the ability to add in a lot more dimensions to games, like functional text chat and things of that nature in computer games.

You must play an awful lot of first person shooters. Or MMOs. Either way.

While I'll agree that there are some genres that translate awfully onto a gamepad, it also works the other way around.

Mouse and keyboard setups are simply unmatched in genres like First Person Shooters (For the precision control you just can't get with a joystick), 4x and Real Time Strategy Games (For the extra functionality of having a whole keyboard at your disposal to execute commands), and MMOs (Basically, for being able to chat using a keyboard).

But have you ever tried playing a Fighting Game on a computer? A keyboard is a seriously terrible in this reguard (probably the worst example I can think of where a keyboard just doesn't cut it). How about a racing game? Variable speeds are completely lost in translation, and you just don't get the same amount of precision control here you would get using a gamepad. For that matter, any game with a variable speed gets totally screwed when it gets ported to a Keyboard and mouse setup. How about a platformer? A Keyboard is just way too rigid to function as well here.

Again, some games just can't do without the functionality of a keyboard and mouse. But some games suck so hardcore on the PC (in comparison with their console counterparts) that it isn't even funny.

Piercing the heavens

Agreed on the controler issue, altough personally, I have no problem at all, playing a 1st-person shooter with a controller. I prefer it sometimes actually

I voted for 360, because I still don't believe in the PS3 until I get a FF7 remake. I used to like the Wii a lot. Used to...

Being as i own both the 360 and the PS3, i voted PS3.

Mainly because i like the console alot more than the 360 (one of the main reasons is the thing doesnt brake after 6months of buying it, a major bonus really), also most of the games i own for the PS3 are most of the exclusives for the console or ones i don't already own on the Xbox and i find the system much easier to use and i've always been a massive fan of the playstation controller, it just fits snugly in your hand.

Also the graphics are better and the addition of a blu ray player is a nice touch, browsing the net on my console as well is a nice touch when i want to look something up quickly.

The one thing the Xbox does have over the PS3 is a better games library and more exclusives and brilliant games (GoW 1 & 2, Fable 2, Mass Effect, Infinite Undiscovery as just a few of my personal favorites on that system), however if the PS3 is having its low point now at the beginning of its life cycle then i hope things can only get better.

Also being and FF and Playstation 2 Fanboy I seriously hope FF13 is better on the PS3 then 360, microsoft should leave franchises like that alone.

When you give total control to a computer, it’s only a matter of time before it pulls a Skynet on you and you’re running for your life.

Forever alone

I prefer the 360, because it has the great franchises like Halo and Gears of War. Also, there just aren't enough games for the PS3 because all the developers are trying to push the console to its limits which only results in a poor focus on actual gameplay.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I see the arguments as this [after day long debates with a good friend]:

PS3: Hardware company, reliable stuff, free internet and some cool exclusive games [resistance, killzone, FF until dec 09], has very sharp graphic that equal the 360 in most cases, plus blu-ray

360: Strong software company with massive gudget, solid monopoly and has there hand well and truely in the PC areana, storng franchises [Halo, Gears of War], strong internet community and easy to use, and cheap

Wii: Having moved more consoles then 360 and PS3 together, solid family gaming with "fun" controller and forces you to exicise.

I am a Sony man myself, however i can agree that the 360 is good, with some cool games. But the Wii is debasing gaming for console by taking away developers and consumers to prop up a "backwards" gaming style.

But the Pc has the best of all worlds and i love it to bitz ^^

Hope that helped or confused

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

PS3 has blue-ray and games I like including FF. I play XBox games in the PC. Like, if I played them at all, which I don't.

I suck at Halo anyway. I lived with a couple friends for a month or two and beat Galaxy while I was there. I consider that to be enough Wii 4 Mii. har-har.

killzone 2 hopefully will change peoples minds that the ps3 has no good games. Apparently something about it's graphics are too good for the Xbox360 to handle. (no joke)

Only fanboys would say something like that. The PS3 has some decent games on it, it just has a smaller overall library of games.

If you compare the graphics between games the 360 and the PS3 share you will find that they are almost identical, CoD4, CoD5, forget the rest.

But when it comes to exclusive games such as Killzone 2, Restance 1 & 2, you will find that the hardware that the PS3 runs off will preform better, because the developers havent had to use the different hardware, and they are only just better on PS3 but it still makes a difference

I certainly have to give you the point of the fighting and racing games being much better on a controller than a keyboard. I would argue the platformer one though, particularly 3d platformers but that's another story all together. However, when it comes to personal taste, I'm not a fan of racing or fighting games so that's where my personal bias comes though I suppose. In the end though, you can always just go out and buy a game pad for your computer if you want one. Last time I checked, there wasn't mouse/keyboard functionality for the main stream consoles.

There is definetly a keyboard functionality (I'm not 100% sure on the mouse) through USB ports on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 (The PS3 can even be uploaded with Linux, so I'm fairly sure a mouse compatability would be necessary here). This, at the very least, would allow for in-game chatting without a microphone (A PS2 even has keyboard functionality, for use with MMOs like FFXI).

Touche on the whole 'buy a gamepad for your computer', though. I guess it all comes down to wether or not you can dish out the cash for a computer that can even be on par with an X-Box 360 or PS3 (It will end up being way more expensive, but potentially much more worth it, especially if you're into FPS and 4X games).

I'd say PC will always be the best system, but it really boils down to wether or not you can afford it. Since I can't, I'll still vote X-Box 360 because of the affordable price and excellent/large library of great titles. Though if a title isn't available on the PC, there's always emulation for most titles. Remember, if you buy a copy of the game, it isn't illegal. Which I, in all honesty, do. I have all of my old SNES games that I can't play with my busted system anymore on my computer. And PSP. But that's a different story.

I've always been an Xbox man, after my brother bought me a first batch Big-Black-Xbox when it first came out. Co-op Halo:CE on that for weeks. Brilliant fun.

Anyway, the 360 is my favourite console. Yes, I know the PS3 has technically better power/graphics/connectivity/MGS4/LBP etc.; but it bothers me not at all. I think that's honestly what's important. You put your money into it, because you like it. The PS3 just doesn't go with me. And apart from MGS and LBP, the games can be described as mediocre rebranded ports, which the 360 did better.

Oh, and in general, the PS3 CoD:4/WaW community sucks. It's like fighting a bunch of blind mole rats with their controllers nailed to the back of their neck.

I'll always be an Xbox man.

I agree with almost everything...
I'm pretty much an Xbox fanboy myself (lol). Not that prolonged exposure to a certain group of PS3 enthusiasts hasn't effected my opinions.

I see it as:

XBox: A large game collection, good software and Live. Strong following, mostly due to the franchise exclusivity you mentioned.

Ps3: Reliable hardware that doesn't screw up much, good exclusive games, if less in number, and free online service, more or less making up for Live's better service.

Wii: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Just No. And more No. Did I mention No?

Wii is pwning all, with about 5 times the other consoles sales . Xbox has about double Sony(?), and I think Sony are still in the red, aren't they? Those are just my opinions and some (unchecked) facts.

where did you get THAT load of crap?? the way i understand it, Microsoft has basically already lost all console wars for the rest of time in Japan.

anyway, i voted PS3. Having played the same sports games on basically the same TV on both the 360, and the PS3, i can honestly say that, even without an HDMI cable, the PS3s graphics are superior.

While they may not have the largest game library out there right now, they have apparently been able to read my mind, and gotten the games that i actually like. Honestly, i can do without a gigantic library of games to choose from, that causes me to waste money on games i will most likely not beat, whereas if i have a smaller library of higher quality games, ill be more inclined to keep them and beat them over and over again.

another personal preference item here, but i have always preferred the Sony controller to ANYTHING that the Xbox franchise has ever put out.

the Wii, while not graphically as nice as the MS/Sony stuff, they offer more games that women want to play, and games that conscientious parents want their kids to play. plus, its winning the price war, as the hardware has a cheaper price tag than both PS3 and 360.
