That's actually 599 points.

If you're feeling really obnoxious, one of the most unfair 500 point lists you can bring (assuming your gaming groups rules allow this mix) is as follows:

HQ

Either one tooled up Haemonculus

or

Two minimum equipped Haemonculi

Troops

2 x 10 Warriors w/2 DL

Heavy

2 x Talos

Very, very few 500 point lists have enough to take on two T/S 7 monstrous creatures. The four total dark lances provide plenty of anti-tank for what you'll see in 500 points. The list is very static, but running Taloi balance that a bit, and you can accompany them with your Hamonculus(i). The Taloi bearing down on your opponent should leave your troops pretty much unmolested.

Oops, my bad. In that case, drop the ravager and add a couple guys to the foot-slogging warriors

Static Dark Eldar seems wrong somehow, but that does look vicious in 0.5k

where do you see foot slogging warriors? if you have dark lances in a warrior squad, you're not foot slogging, you're hiding in bushes somewhere hoping to get shots off.

personally i don't see why people bother playing 500 point games. it's not competitive. it's not fun. it's annoying at best.

We call those boss brawls, and they're actually pretty fun.

Usually around here its 350 points, assemble an HQ choice (special consideration given for those without retinues - Orks) and all the players start on various corners of a 6x4 board. The last one had 8 players, and my Tau won simply because there was a lot of assaulty HQs, and I jumped around the board sniping. =p

uhm... ok...

HQ: Asdrubael Vect (1#, 277 Pts)
1 Asdrubael Vect @ 277 Pts
Splinter Pistol (x3); Dark Lance; Disentegrator (x2)

Total Roster Cost: 277

14 AV all around... 1 S8 AP2, 2 S7 AP 2 weapons... 12 inch move....

win.

Kind of hard to catch a Fast skimmer that can fight with some of the best of them in CC.

As for the army list I'd drop the first warrior squad to the bare minimum with 2 DL @ 100 points and same for the Raider squad bare minimum, put the rest of it into your HQ give him a Jet bike to keep up with the reavers and maybe drugs or an aganizer. Or if you planned on him riding in the raider, drop the DL in that squad give them a blaster or splinter cannon.

OP: Ok, first, drop the Archon to a Dracon, no reason to spend the points on an Archon in a 500 pt. game (especially one without any decent weapons). Second, foot slogging Dark Eldar Warrior units are 10 dudes with 2 dark lances for 100 points. That's it, no power weapons, no extra bodies, just 10 guys with 2 Dark Lances.

Frankly in 500 points, I wouldn't even bother taking foot squads. Try this:

1 - Haemonculi - 45 pts
Scissorhand, Destructor (that's the one with the flamer template right? Don't have my codex here)

3 x 5 Raider Squads - 110 points each
Splinter cannon, blaster, Raider with Dark lance

1 - Ravager - 120
3 x Disintigrators

495 points. You could add something to the Haemonculus if you like.

500 point armies for Dark Eldar are pretty hard to make. The army gets really competitive at the 1750 - 2,000 point mark.
