It does look promising but will it life up to the hype?

I hope they don't mess it up....I mean seriously Blood Bowl is great fun. It is in no way a super serious game but man is it fun to enjoy a couple ice cold drinks and play w/ some friends. The better question might be how can they mess it up?

Plus tack on that you can play whole seasons(cmon online play....), manage your own team and your guys get xp like the game...I have been stoked for some time

Yes there will be online mode and tourney's, and you can either do turn based(like the TT game) or real time. SO EXCITED!!!

Right, the developer site is pretty clear with what you'll get:

Discover or relive furious Blood Bowl matches via the turn-based mode which fully respects the rules of the Living Rulebook 5. If you're up to it, there is also a real-time mode which will seriously test your nerves and your reflexes.

So it looks like you'll be able to play turn based with rules right from the living rulebook, or you can try out a 'real time mode' for a different experience. Madden meets bloodbowl?

I'm worried about it being turn based.. I'm sure GW fans will like it that way but there aren't enough GW fans that will buy it to make it a great seller. I think the "regular" console game players who are used to playing football games like Madden will find the turn based thing hard to get into. But hopefully I'm wrong

Which is why they are putting in the real time as well I will try out both heavily but the fact that I have been playing blood bowl for quite some time, I plan to focus on the real time at first. Get that setup.

Really..if nothing else. This will allow me to play blood bowl w/ my friends stationed in Iraq and Korea w/ out having to use FUMBBL

Not yet...but there is already talk of them releasing those teams at a later date. I am truly impressed w/ the number of teams already in it considering that it is being released simo across multiple gaming platforms AND the fact that it is somewhat of a niche game. Hopefully they will draw in a lot of regular American football game fans to help keep the game going....

Personally I see this lasting way longer on the PC side of things but hey...here's hoping

DOW2 isn't fun? No way, it looks amazing. I am waiting for the full release, but that would be a crying shame if it weren't good, the first was fantastic.

This is old, and not bloodbowl, but Bloodbowl and Spacehulk are totally linked in my mind has we used to play both those games all the time while I was a teenager.

From what I am seeing it has both real time and turn based gaming.

Except for the PSP and DS which will only have the turn based play.

They have 8 teams.. From what I can tell those are skaven, lizardmen, humans, chaos, orcs, elfs, dwarfs and goblins. And in an interview the designer of the game said there will be plent of teams added (think expansion packs or something similar)

Damn! And about 4-6 more teams than I expected to see, nice!

Maybe I'm dumb, but what platform is this for? Gonna be multi-port, perhaps to my PC as well?

One of the stages looks a lot like something Dark Elf-ish---thingy...place.

Yeah one of the arenas was definitely Naggroth (?SP)

I'm just bumbed they aren't making it for PS3...

Sadly things don't switch over to well to the PS3 and out of all the game systems...ps3 doesn't sell as well as the other systems do typically

it is indeed suppose to also be Xbox360 + Live. Online league, customizable teams, stat increases(new abilities from crushing all those in front of you), all that good stuff.

If it has high elves, I'll buy. Been FUMBBLing the Yvresse Towers forever now.

I haven't played it properly, but I've seen demos, watched the trailer and read the review (86% in PC Gamer, I think). It plays completely differently to DOW1 with less choice of units and armies. The single player version sounds a bit dull and you can only play Space Marines. Multi-player sounds bizzare with only 1 vs 1 or 3 vs 3 permitted?!

I'm sure lots of people will enjoy playing the game, it just doesn't appeal to me

Blood Bowl though, looks fun
