At Gamesday last year I was lucky enough to play a demo on PC and damn it's fine. We could only play turn based but we had about 8 teams to choose from I think, ended up playing Goblins, including all the fun toys, vs Lizardmen. Talking to the guys running the demos I managed to get my mate a cool BB tee-shirt and found out that the pc realtime version will play as seen in the trailer but the 360 version will play more like a regular EA sports game with respect that you control one player at a time and can switch between players.

The good news is the turn based format is pretty much the same as the board game but without rolling dice, forgetting what skills you have or losing your team sheet. Much much fun was had indeed.

Ah and the need to recreate my old Bloodbowl elf team The Anfield All Stars resurfaces yet again, bummed about no PS3 but at least my 360 will get a dust off for a while

When you give total control to a computer, it’s only a matter of time before it pulls a Skynet on you and you’re running for your life.

I'm really looking forward to Blood bowl!
I'm very happy with the most recent GW licensed games that I own the consoles for.
Battlemarch is pretty good despite the poor controls and Squad command for DS was very fun. (There's something satisfying about being able to pick the color scheme for my units in Battlemarch. My actual units don't get painted that quickly! It does help in picking a nice color scheme for my minis though without the frustration of being disappointed by both my color choice and poor painting skills. It also keeps me from having to slave over a bucket of superclean when things don't pan out so well. To me that was worth the $60 price tag!) My wife refers to it as Warhammer Paper Doll March!
I don't own a fast enough PC for DOW unfortunately. :(
the addition of 'Nids to the sequel makes me very interested in playing it once I get my piecemeal PC together sometime later this year.
I'm still hoping that they port DOW over to 360 like they did Mark of Chaos (Battlemarch).
It probably won't happen but there's always hope.
Consequently I have tried to preorder Blood Bowl at both my local Gamestop and Gamecrazy and neither has it on the radar so I couldn't preorder it but I was able to preorder Dragon age Origin which doesn't come out until September! I think that's pretty odd. Does anyone have a release date on Blood Bowl?

DOW2 isn't fun? No way, it looks amazing. I am waiting for the full release, but that would be a crying shame if it weren't good, the first was fantastic.

I haven't played it properly, but I've seen demos, watched the trailer and read the review (86% in PC Gamer, I think). It plays completely differently to DOW1 with less choice of units and armies. The single player version sounds a bit dull and you can only play Space Marines. Multi-player sounds bizzare with only 1 vs 1 or 3 vs 3 permitted?!

I'm sure lots of people will enjoy playing the game, it just doesn't appeal to me

Blood Bowl though, looks fun

Apologies for the off topic but I think it's hardly fair to pass judgement on Dawn of War's multiplayer without having played it anymore given that the beta is out. I suppose some people still wont be happy, those who think building a barracks adds depth to their game. But personally I have found that I enjoy it very much, more than I did when I first played the original even.

To each their own of course, and you are entitled to your opinion but I don't think it's fair to be critical of a game that you could play for free right now but choose not to.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

2 Quarter of this year(Juneish) is the expected release date. And here is a great FAQ

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.

Down under

Yeah they are doing a good job with this game as it looks like thus far.

I just hope to bob that they fix up the netcode to deal with disconnects and stuff on xbl because in a turn based game like it is, it takes a while.

Plenty of time for the network to hiccup and there goes your game. I'm wondering how they will deal with it ALA fumbll using turn save points so you can reconnect and continue.

How they deal with this issue will make or break the game as an online sensation.

All that said, bloodbowl is my favourite game (tabletop) and i'm sooooo going to buy it when it comes out.
