What is the difference between Dark Elves of Khaine and Dark Elves of Slaanesh.

From the lexicanum. As opposed to our own awesome DAKKADAKKA.

The Elves of Nagarythe were ruled by Malekith, the son of the first Phoenix King, Anaerion the Defender and Lady Morathi whom Anaerion had resuced from a Chaos cult.

Lady Morathi, corrupted by Chaos used her influence to spread the Cult of Pleasure of the Chaos God Slannesh.

The cult became popular and many High Elven nobles joined without knowing they were selling their souls to Chaos.

The Phoenix King Belshannar began to fear the growing cult which was now sacrificing creautres to Slannesh and declared war on Nagarythe.

When Malekith returned from his voyages he denounced his mother as a consort of Chaos and began a purge for hidden agents of the cult, only when Malekith accused the Phoenix King himself to be a worshipper of Slaanesh was it revealed that he was an ally of Chaos and desired the crown for himself.

Belshannar poisened himself rather than be interrogated and Malekith claimed the throne of Ulthuan,striding into the Phoenix Flame, however, Malekith could not hide his black heart from the Gods and he was thrown from the flame, badly burnt.

Malekith fled to Nagarythe and prepared for war against the Elven Kingdoms. The new Phoenix King, Caledor gathered an army and marched to Nagarythe.

The High Elves defeated Malekith's amry at the marshes of Maldour.Following which,his followers resorted to dark magics to bring about their victory. Malekith's sorcerers sought to disrupt the vortex at the centre of Ulthuan on the Isle of the Dead,(which drained the Chaos winds from the world)so the forces of Chaos could aid him.The mages on the Isle however countered his spell which caused a huge wave to crash upon Ulthuan drowning the Shadow lands of Nagarythe and the coast lines of many of the Outer Kingdoms. Malekith and his survivors created the massive Black Arks and attempted to flee Ulthuan, the High Elves let many of the survivors flee content they would die in the cold lands of the north.

So Malekith and mumsy made a bid for power and got cast out. So where does "Witch Elves of Khaine" fit in.

After fleeing from Ulthuan, the Dark Elves were split in 2 factions, Khaine and Slaaneesh. These factions almost started another civil war among the Dark Elves.
Then the high priestess of Khaine got blessed with eternal youth (by bathing in the blood alters). After seeing the blessing, Malekith decreed that only Khaine was to be whorshipped.
The witch elves are the priestess and "nuns" of Khaine. Totally devoted to his whorship.

The ironic part is that the "High Priestess of Khaine" you're referring to is actually Morathi, who is also the head of the the Cult of Slaanesh in addition to being the Bride of Khaine, someone very in control of her son. This is the same Morathi that was able to hide the fact that the Cult was still going strong in hiding until they returned publicly in the Storm of Chaos and led to a civil war amongst the Dark Elves.

The reason Morathi holds so much power is she is head of the sorceresses and her son's lover, although that last part has no doubt been smoothed out of the fluff by now.

The only difference between Slaanesh Witch Elves and Khaine Witch Elves is that the latter Sacrifices you to their god, while the fromer rapes you, then sacrifices you

Well Morathi is a superhot dark elven slaaneshi-babe with several thousand years worth of experience, so Malekith truly is an evil mutha-luva...

No, Morathi is the head, but Hellebron generally runs the show. I have all three Army Books, and they note Hellebron as second only to Morathi in the Witch Elves. There is also some fluff in there about Morathi finding it amusing watching Hellebron attempting to use the Temple of Khaine to gain power, but merely dance around in her palm the whole time.

`Lovers' is probably a stretch of the world too. The guy has no skin (ouch!) and is welded into a suit of armour. It is the scene from `Robin Hood: Men in Tights' in reverse, only there is no key to his... heart.

Another point worth noting is that Gav dumped the Cult of Slanesh fluff from the current Army Book, which effectively makes the main discussion a moot point. The current fluff (for all armies) also gets rid of the Storm of Chaos, so none of that actually happened and you just had a bad dream.

Well if the fluff is going to move when your not watching it... /sigh

Morathi proclaimed herslef high priestess of Khaine, after the cult of Khaine gained the upper hand. In doing this she managed to stay on the top power level, her son had already decreed Khaine to be the durchii god of choice.

Actually, this is a good point- what is with the Storm of Chaos having hit rewind? Are we really redacting that whole campaign? Not that I mind terribly- Archaon really went out like a punk.

Instead, they run around more than half-naked ripping innocent heads out, tearing out hearts, drinking the "contents", and running some more.

Shame, they have so much slaaneshi potential...
