I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this as of now.

From their newsletter:

- Call to Arms Live Expansion Announced!
Today we issued a Call to Arms to all players of WAR with the announcement of the first live expansion for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Call to Arms will introduce an incredible array of new content to the game, including two highly anticipated new careers – the head bashin’ Orc Choppa and the oath-sworn Dwarf Slayer – and a new dungeon zone called Land of the Dead, set in the desert realm of the Tomb Kings.

The Call to Arms live expansion, set to roll out for free, beginning next month and running through June, will also include three in-game live events, a new RvR Scenario, added functionality to the Realm Wars section of the WAR web site, the opening of the official WAR Forums, and a new free trial version of the game.

New Careers: Orc Choppa and Dwarf Slayer
With the arrival of the Black Guard and the Knight of the Blazing Sun, the forces of Order and Destruction have shored up their defences and strengthened up the battle lines. The time has come to launch a new offensive and smash the enemy emplacements, and the Choppa and Slayer are the ideal warriors to lead the attack.

Live Event - Call to Arms: Bitter Rivals
For uncounted centuries, the Dwarfs and Greenskins have been the most bitter of rivals. Now that the Slayer and the Choppa are set to join the armies of Order and Destruction, old grudges will be answered and ancient enmities will be given new breath. Though the outcome of the war still hangs in the balance, one thing is certain: the battle for the Warhammer world is about to become deadlier than ever!

Once the Bitter Rivals live event begins next month, take part in daily challenges to earn a head start in the two awesome new careers. Venture into open RvR to claim the Gore-Soaked Banner before the hated foe can get their filthy hands on it! Unlock new siege weaponry or simply swig your Bitter Brew. Revel in the /swear emote and see what rewards you can uncover for cussing your enemies. Collect the weapons of the fallen or try your hand at beating the roaming Slayer and Choppa bosses. There are rewards for Basic, Advanced and Elite Influence, culminating in the ultimate prize: the chance to play WAR's new classes a full week before they're released to the public! This last reward won't be easy to earn, and players who want to unlock the head start will need to log in each day and complete the daily event!

Bitter Rivals also introduces a new RvR Scenario – Twisting Tower – which will only be available to players for the duration of this live event. This Scenario takes players to a ruined Chaos temple hovering above a mighty vortex in the Tier 4 zone of the Chaos Wastes. Here players will battle for control of the temple’s different levels – with a very special surprise to those players who succeed in capturing all three. During Bitter Rivals, this new Scenario will be available for players of all levels, on all Tiers, but will not contribute to the campaign. Participation in this Scenario will give players an extra 10% bonus to their Renown point gain – but whatever you do, avoid being spattered by the unspeakable filling of the tentacle pie!

Live Event - Night of Murder
Celebrate Valentine's Day in True Warhammer Style!
As darkness falls on the Night of Murder, the worshippers of death bathe the land in blood, each intent on proving his or her devotion to the Elf god Kaela Mensha Khaine. It is a time that the forces of Destruction are all too willing to exploit. Assassins infiltrate the cities, while on the battlefield the differences between Good and Evil fade beneath the crimson haze of bloodlust. None are immune to the will of Khaine during this dark holiday.

During the Night of Murder, players will receive event Influence by completing daily Tome tasks, as well as for participating in the 'Marked for Death' quest given out by Witch Elves and Witch Hunters located in every Warcamp, Scenario, and Capital City. Keep an eye out for members of the enemy realm who have been "marked for death" and kill these players and NPC's to reap the rewards of the Night of Murder! But beware... unbeknownst to you and your realm mates, you too may be chosen as sacrifice.

tl;dr - Two new classes, two new live events and Khemri will be added over the following six months.

That's an expansion? I call that a patch. Hey, let's add two more careers that we'd originally hoped to start with, but couldn't get done in time for drop. Now, if they added, say, Skaven, that'd be an expansion. This? Naw.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

heh.
They didn't hope to have Choppas+Slayers.
Slayers were never even CONSIDERED, Hammerers were in their place originally.
Choppas were removed pretty early on because they were too close to Black Orcs.

They added two classes and a new zone. Sounds like an expansion to me. Still waiting for lizardmen vs. scaven though.

Actually, all races had a class cut due to time constraints.

Honestly who cares, they failed and lost a LOT of their playerbase after their game coudn't compete with wow. They didnt even follow through with their RvR and pvp gameplay which seriously sucked.

Im not a fan of Warhammer Online's game play.

As much as i love the designs , the race , it just feels rough and unpolished compared to WoW.

My fist month of subscription ended just few days ago,
not paying for another month :x

I started playing again. WoW is more polished over all. But wow pvp is just sad IMHO. The lvl 80 endgame is too easy, compared to the lvl 70 stuff. Guild politics can get out of control. abd where is the war. I'm ready for a war between the horde and alliance. It's called war of warcraft, not world of uneasy truce craft. In WAR I can get on bust some heads, sack a few castles, and do something else with my time. In wow I'd spend most of my weekends planning for a raid and grinding. Again this is IMHO.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

What are you talking about? I like the pvp in WAR. I'm not very good at it, sure, but
I find it enjoyable.

I agree with you, WoW pvp is actually really good . But not saying warhammer doesnt have its plus sides either. Because it does , but its just so rough you know?

To be fair, i wouldnt rely on ratings to judge how good someone is in WoW arena , you never know if they are doing it
to help their friends / guildmates / quick gold etc etc. Its pretty foolish and sad to judge people that way actually.

On the servers i have my 8 arena characters on, im always loved and hated by the players. I hunt gladiators with ego issues, and i break their balls :3

*edit and also castrate ( their e-peens ) its been awhile ^^v

I know how you feel. Its easier to obtain gear for your multiple chars through arena ,
then the conflicting raid schedules .

And often unless you are known pvper with good main , people will always decline the team :x

But , you can always challenge the people the declined your offer. I mean chances are that you will lose
against decced out player, but no one will deny your skills if you dueled infront of a crowd.

When i follow my friend sometimes when they transfer servers , right away the same night i arrive, i would find
the players with gladiator titles , duel them , win , and find myself a good team right away , not missing
a week worth of free arena points :"P

Gathering the Informations.

1) WoW pvp=garbage. Arenas never should have been implemented, because it's not real PvP. It's nothing but a glorified multi-person duel, and is based on who you got as a partner.
2) War is still in its infancy. At this point in WoW's life, there was still just world PvP and Warsong Gulch.
3) If Wrath hadn't been rushed for a release, War's playerbase wouldn't be down.
Go on and tell me that Wrath of the Lich King was "completely planned to launch when it did".
It was released completely unfinished, a perfect example is how PvP is too bursty right now, random talents are completely broken; heck even entire classes are completely broken.

"rough and unfinished", yeah that's totally not Wrath.

I freaking hate the warcraft franchise. hate it. Warcraft = Orcs (who were"manipulated by chaos " and really just want to sip tea with the elves who don't understand that the orcs who want to return to their "shaministic roots")
Elves (who are possibly even more fruity than they should be)
Shiny happy everything
bad pvp, which many don't even consider pvp
raids
and stupid kids

Warhammer online is more fun to play. end of story.

First off, I rocked WoW pvp with my horde troll hunter, it's not that hard since most alliance people on my battle realm gave up halfway through the fight. I like being part of a team, Individuals are less important that the team over all. As for spamming buttons. In WoW for a coulple of years all my druid had to spam is moonfire. The reward for attacking castle is loot and control of said castle. Defending gives you xp and rep. I simply said WoW dosn't give me the pvp or story line I want, WAR does.

My .02...

Let my WoW acct expire after playing since launch when WAR came out, played WAR like it was crack till WOW:LK came out, canceled my WAR sub.

I may be unusual though, I play for PvE and raids/Instances with friends. I rarely PvP unless I HAVE to (like getting a trinket for Hyjal) and thought WAR was very boring once you got bored of doing the PvE quests. No one ran the few instances there were, even RvR was kinda boring, we would group, capture 2-3 castles, then we were done for the night..... fun. Not my cup of tea but I REALLY WANTED WAR to be a WoW-Killer.

The game that finally puts starcraft to rest will be starcraft 2. The wow-killer will be the new mmo blizzard is working on, but it probably won't launch untill something like 2014-2015.

Yes I enjoyed the great level despairity when in T4 scenarios while at the lower range of 30, even with the bolster, and having to face 12 players on ezmode. The awesome might of snares that stacked to indeed root you in place, and class mechanics that said they would free you of all snare/root effects but never worked. The jacked up knockback mechanics, massively insufficient and broken resists. The slowed, uncollared power of BW's (I played a S&B BO). Absolute gak ass horrible pathing. there's more, but it's been a while since I played, October at least.

And I'm not going to argue that Wrath wasn't rushed out before War could get their gak together. Many of the hardcore raiding guilds left or are in hiatus because of that.

I think it is funny when people say that WoW is more polished. WoW came out 4 years ago and WAR a few months ago. WoW wasn't very polished at launch either.

Thats an interesting thing to bring up. You see, i hold no loyalty to either warhammer or WoW though i might be biased for warhammer since i fell in love
with the race ' s design on first sight.

But that said , whether WoW had years to polish up compared to warhammer's few month . honestly have nothing to do with me.

I want to play a smooth game , now.

In the future when warhammer is improved and polished, will i pick it over WoW? 100% i will.

But for NOW when its not, i dont really like how it handles.

For example, i first gave in and decided to buy warhammer when i saw the White Lion , after spending 3 hours on it,
watching their ridiculous squatting battle stances, i gave up on it.
