Hi guys,

Ever since I saw the drawing of the Looted Wagon in the Ork Codex, I knew I wanted to recreate that in a model. The Leman Russ the Orks had looted was just covered with great Ork additions! So as I got more and more skilled in plasticard work, I decided it was time to give it a shot. I am putting up a full article on my blog: http://theadeptsforge.blogspot.com on its creation today. Here are some teaser images!

More images and full details on the blog later today!

JHall, I really like what you've done with the standard Looted Wagon. I could place the inspiration from the codex right away. Where did the bitz for the crow's nest come from?

The crow's nest is from the Ogre Kingdoms Bull Standard Bear. I shaved off the shield that normally makes up the back and added some extra plasticard plates and rivets. I also raised up the inside so that I could put one of the new plastic Grots in it. I will have this at the Bunker on Monday night if you want to take a closer look.

Looks like it's on its way to being a very nice model. Looted tanks are always some of my favorite vehicles to see.

Awesome as always...

Quick question - what are you using to make rivets?

I've yet to find a hole punch with a small enough hole size...

I made two different styles on this so far. One (the grey ones) are actually cut from unused parts of the battle wagon. I just shaved off the rivets from pieces and weapons that weren't being used. The others are just fine plasticard rod that I cut with an X-acto and glue on.

The only criticism I can offer up is that I feel the turret is a bit too tall looking.

otherwise, I too have looked at that drawing (and the DOW looted Russes), and the one of the battlewagon, and thought it looked neat. If only I had a spare Russ body, I would make a good looted wagon.

Me like. You certainly got the feeling right, this is what looted tanks should look like. I especially like the grot shooting out the side.
