anyone else use legos for terrain. I've found that they make really really good terrain. the most obvious use is for walls and buildings, but you can make a lot more than that. If you remember the medieval sets had those rocks, they were about 5 inches tall, one of them was pointed, one was wider and flat on top, you can make really good rock walls out of them. Ever found yourself with a exploded vehicle and need dangerous terrain, my friends and i have a small pile of broken legos, blocks, some guns, and wheels, just use a small handful to scatter the area with debris. We even have a lego forest. We took a flat green board, and used lego trees and other lego foliage to make a forest models can move through, we kept the trees about 2 inches apart.
Anyone else use legos and have some good ideas for terrain?

We had a comm-tower as a objective and terrain piece for a while. It fun because it can be destrouyed during battle. The important thing is to have even colours(only grey and so on).

brikwars is actually a pretty cool game, it's a little different than 40k as there's almost no focus on balance. Oh wait...
Anyway it's cool because the game allows you to just make up rules as you go along, kind of like building legos.
If you look into the game make sure you read into heroic feats.

Im using some hinged pieces to make an an adjustable building for reuse as well as tunnel for apoc and what not. Another good thing you can use is those set of little green army men, they come with lots of unusable stuff like little tanks and stuff but you can use that plastic as raw material. They do however come with loads of good stuff like premade walls, barbed wire fences and sandbags and again a hell of alot of decent rocks and trees. Im using my old lego and modding it to fit the army men bits and it looks pretty cool.
When im done im going to cover it all in concrete effect flock and paint it up to look like actual terrain, sounds like a lot of work but as sad as it is its a huge amount of fun, if it goes well ill add some pictures in a week or two, if not it will be my secret time killing shame lol.

My old gaming group used to meet at a school, and one week nobody brought terrain. We busted out one of the Lego bins and built up some bunkers and ruins. It was... interesting. I can't say I'd recommend it, as much as I love Legos.

Actually it's a cool idea, a whole 40k battlefield made from Lego, with Lego road plates and everything. I tried building a to scale SM building from Lego some time ago, but soon ran out of bricks in the monochrome colours I needed, bright red and yellow 40k buildings not good! Would have to have a massive collection of the stuff to fill a battlefield, but still, would look awesome.
Anyone tried Meccano?

It's really practical to make scenery this way, especailly as the Lego is almost unbreakable, but very difficult to stop it looking like Lego :( You can help some by using grey/brown/black bricks and adding some blotchy paint to create more of a brickish look. A spray gun would probably also be good for this.
