Columbus, Oh

Is there any functional difference between the model currently sold on the GW Website for $55 (Land Raider).. and something called Mark III Land Raider from around 1999 or 2000?

Are they the same model or different in some significant way, like metal parts, fiddly construction details etc..

Pretty much asking cause someone offered me a NIB mark III land raider for a rather large sum.. and since it is an Internet Deal.. I want to tape the brain trust here.

The current Land Raider Kit i believe is still MK3 , or the one that came out at 1999-2000

But there might be price difference on the variants.

* Land Raider Crusader
* Land Raider Redeemer

Forge World

* Land Raider Helios
* Land Raider Spartan
* Hellfire Land Raider
* Land Raider Prometheus

Actually, 4x Twin-linked Heavy Bolters, Pintle Mounted Storm Bolter, and Improved Comms. That one's not WSYIWYG, the PMSB isn't optional.

Maybe that bit that looks like Johnny 5's head is some sort of super-laser-storm-bolter?

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

That's the Improved Comms system. It's a Command Land Raider. I actually own one of these things and love it. He probably did what a lot of people seem to do when they purchase a Prometheus, he didn't check the rules or ask anyone what it was armed with standard.

Man - that's one of my all-time favorite pics of a Land Raider. That was picture that inspired the color scheme (and extra armor on my own Land Raiders) for my Deathwing army. Good stuff!

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

So, what I am hearing from you folks is that the 1999/2000 edition Mark III Land Raider is the exact same one as the current basic Land Raider.. right?

So, if this guy is trying to get me to pay more than current retail he is blowing smoke at me..

and yes, it was more than 50 bucks.. but was claiming that since it was still in shrink and "collectable" it was warranted.
