Right after fiddling around with the codex me and a mate are having a tourney practice game tomorrow i'm using lash, he's using orks. This is possibly going to be one of my lists I may take so i just wondered what you guys thought or could you offer me any tips or in fact re-write the list if you thinks its naff, right for your viewing pleasure.

2x Daemon Prince: MoS, Lash, Wings: 155pts x2 = 310pts

6 Plague Marines: 2x Plasma, Champ, Fist: 208pts

7 Plague Marines: 2x Melta, Champ, Fist: 221pts
Rhino: 35pts

7 Plague Marines: 2x Melta, Champ, Fist: 221pts
Rhino: 35pts

2 Obliterators: 150pts

2 Obliterators: 150pts

2 Obliterators: 150pts

Just a note this list isn't designed to take on Orks specifically we are just testing our perspective tourny armies for Strs and Weaknesses.

So whadd'ya think?

Your list is fine, however.... I tend to run CSM as I feel more comfortable having more bodies on the table, plus with more bodies means more basic bolter fire. In combat I think plaguemarines are much superior. If anything the only major different between our two lists is that I run melta gun, flamer and champ with a combi-melta. For your list if you wanted to duplicate that, you could drop off 1 plaguemarine somewhere, or... replace your long range plasma guns (see I know what you are thinking here) with a melta and a flamer, then put the flamers on the rhino squad and give the champs of the rhino squads combi-meltas.

Really and honestly, thats the only tweak you might look at.

In my first tournament at 1500pts or whatever, I ran terminators in place of oblits. I've since run oblits and i like oblits better. Use the lash to push units away and move towards the units you want to break.

My last game was against 137 orks at 1500pts, and I was runing a list almost the same as yours. At the end of the game i was nearly dead, but I won the objective based mission. I did some silly things like run a 3 man unit of oblits into a 12 man ork squad with a powerclaw... just so you know, thats a losing propostion for you.

You probably will want to run your oblits as 2 units of 3 instead of 3 units of 2, reduces your chances of losing kill points.

I can see your point on the Oblits however when facing stuff like mech Eldar being able to split my fire more effectively would be more profitable perhaps i'm undecided on this one though.

Juggling the weapons configuration is definitely something to think about, I will write up a bat rep tomorrow to see how the army fared and debate weapons config as i continue play testing the army.

12 Orks vs 3 Oblits, I hope you fired your T/L Flamers first...or was that after they had shot?

At 1500, you don't need two lashes unless you are running EC.
Drop 2 Oblits+ 1 Prince and buy another PM squad.

Nevertheless, some flamers would be nice.
For this, I'd drop one PM squad and take an NM squad with doomsiren.

naw, that list will work fine vs orks - it could be tuned to work better in a specific instance, but it is a good all comers lash list.

Keep the dual lash. Two princes are nice and it gives you the ability to move the squad 4d6 if needed or pull one squad in to get dead and push one back until you are ready to hit it.

edit - I would agree with dropping one pm squad for a squad of nm with doom siren. It will make the list more rounded.

Thanks for the analysis I will take this into account.

I'm just about to start writing a Bat Rep for today as I won quite convincingly, and yeh as i said its not designed to be a specific ork army killers its an all comers like to take to the GT.

I'd say you have a very solid list here for sure. I'd probablt drop the unit of PMs with the plasma guns in favor of Noise Marines though.

If the opportunity had presented itself, I would have flamed instead of charged. I shot the orc truck that had 12 orks with a powerclaw nob, with my oblits, and it careened forward into my oblits. I made a decision that I would prefer to do the charging rather than be charged. It was just dumb luck that I was able to use that one rule where if you blow up the transport you are allowed to charge the passengers, and it was bad luck that the truck careened forward into my oblits in the first place. And it was bad tactics on my part that I placed my oblits so far away from the rest of my army, but I was playing against someone who wanted to see why chaos is strong, and it was someone that I thought was relatively new to the game, so I wanted to make it a fun situation for both of us. In the end my oblits died, and the nob and one other or were the only models left.

Looking forward to your battle report.

Cool, your list could have been even stronger against his, and his list had some strange choices in it. No Lootas? 3 Meganobs?, 4 warbikers? He should rebuild it with the idea of not giving up his kill points so easily. And Lootas as strong, very strong.

Good list, though I prefer to have all my squads in Rhinos. That is just my preference. Other than that, solid.

Giving the timing of this thread i'm going to assume this is for the UKGT final (I can't go due to other commitments ). If thats the case then there is something fairly serious to bear in mind- the list is mind-nummingly dull. By that I mean that it's the standard 1500pt twin lash net-list and everyone worthwhile will have taken it into account during list creation and practiced against it regularly. You won't be surprising anyone and will have to be prepared for the mirror match.

That said, it's still darn solid. Alex wassisface from yankieland nearly won heat three with an identical list.
