I just submitted my army list for broadside bash last week and now I wonder if i screwed myself.

For stormboyz

Here is what I paid: 12 pts x 20 storm boyz = 240 + 85 for Zagstruk =325.
SO my unit has 20 Stormboyz + Zags for a total of 21 models.

Is this correct.

Per Codex. It says instead of a nob, one mob may be led by Boss Zags.

Under the "Character" entry for storm boyz it says One boy may be upgraded to Nob +10 points.

However since I have the option to NOT have the NOB and take zagtruk. I took Zags. Was this correct. That I can have 21 models.

DId I do It correctly? 20 models price plus zags. Or should it be 19 models x 12 for a total of 228 + 85 = 313 total?
Or how I did it 20 models = 240 + Zags = 325. Its pretty much only a 12 point difference but it can matter. I can get extra armor or a stikk chukas for my trukk for that price.

Zagstruk is not listed as an upgrade to an existing model as a Nob is.

The only restriction is that you cannot take both a Nob and Zagstrukk, as you take him instead of the option of taking the Nob.

So yes, you did it right. 21 models total in the unit.

Isn't this issue in pretty heavy contention? The owner of my FLGS and I had this talk, and he refuses to accept that interpretation.

I disagree with that interpretation as well. The wording says "Instead of a Nob, one mob may be led by..."

This leads me to believe that Boss Snikrot and Boss Zagstruk (which both use the same wording) are taking the place where a Nob would be, so we are stuck with the unit composition size (5 - 20 stormboyz for example).

This is *unlike* the wording used for Kaptin Badrukk, which simply states "One flash gitz mob may be led by..."

Imagine if Badrukks wording said instead: "Kaptin Badrukk may be taken instead of a Flash Gitz,..." This wording (like the wording for Boss Snikrott and Zagstruk) would lead me to believe he is taken instead of another model.

I don't think it's clear. I know how the INITFAQ ruled it (and amazingly, that's what Yak posted).

Ask the Tourney Organizer and be honest.

"I plan to take Zagstrukk. It's not clear if I can field 19 and him or 20 and him. From the wording, I think that I can take 20 and him, but I wanted to verify it with you."

The size of the mob is maxed at 20 (15 for kommandos). The mob includes Zaggy and Snikrot. How can you have a mob that is greater then the max?

It doesn't say max 20 models. It says:

• 5-20 Stormboyz

Clearly Zagstruck is not a Stormboy. He's a boss.
If Zagstruck was meant to be one of the original mob number he would be upgraded from a boy, just like a nob.

The same goes for Snikrot and Kommandos.

Since neither Snik or Zhags are 'upgrades', I think they can exceed the max unit size. The only restriction is that you can't upgrade a boy to a nob.

But, I don't think this is crystal clear and may not be RAI.
