This is just a snippet from a battle I had a couple of weeks ago but its a classic example of true LOS blocking terrain..

So neways, My army was Eldar & my friend played a force O' tyranids and we start the game.. the second or third turn in, on his go.. hes looking all gleeful/happy with himself and I wonder why this is and indeed ask him so to which he replies that he reckons hes gonna assault one of my squads with a squad of hormagaunts.

I reply to this, What squad of hormagaunts..? He points at somthing behind a tower, which I look behind and find theres a neat coloum of the beasties that exactly mirror the towers LOS shadow (From my point of view) which he claims were positioned to get the from the surrounding cover.

Ohh how half my army fell to a horde of cheecky hormagaunts.

Lesson of the day; Dont be as lazy as me and move a little to get a good scope of the entire battlefield lest you fall foul of hidey hormagaunts!

Too be fair.. it's all worked out quite well!

I like how this story reflects an army's actual fog of war. Be aware of your surroundings, even if it's just a game!

You don't watch while your opponent sets up his units in deployment and when he moves them during the movement phase?

It takes a long time to move a horde of hormagaunts. Kinda hard not to notice.

Eh..in friendly games at the house I usually do ther things while they move and vice versa. You know..get another beer, pee/poo, give the wife 5 min. of attention....

I too have fallen victim to this tactic. But that is what makes life interesting.
