Altough I miss Frank I-covered-wars-ya-know West already, those screens look damn sweet. I#ll have to import it though. No way that game will get published in Germany

You know, I was literally just about to post something about this. Though I might be missing the mall setting a bit, I think a casino is a nice fit for a zombie game that has never been done before.

Sorry, Germany. I'd sell you a copy. Do you know if X-Box 360s are region-free?

Wait, what? Dead Rising: Vegas?

That's novel. Still, should be good. Dead Rising was very close to being one of my favourite games ever - if they tweak the faults this is all set to be a stunner.

Meh...I have a strong feeling it will be much like the original.

I just seriously hope they give you a 'survival mode' right off the bat, so you don't have to deal with all of the scoops, rescuing survivors, and time limit if you don't want to. A lot of people complained pretty hard about the save system too, but it was part of the difficulty of the game (especially once you hit level fifty), so I don't think they're too keen on changing it.

Gathering the Informations.

Not buying it.
Hated it, just like the Resident Evil games most recently.

CAPCOM's losing their touch in making innovative games with intuitive controls.

I never played it until recently and the save system really annoyed me. Played it once, I hated the clock hanging over me and the feeling like I'm being timed, I can't just relax and kill me some zombies... That was before I learned about what you get when you beat it... lol

The lack of voice in the NPCs bugged me alot, too. If they're fixing some of that up I might get it.

If it's only a casino it might not be too great, I couldn't see much variety.

As far as I've heard it's a whole city
edit: filled with Casinos...

@Chrysaor686: Thanks, but I can get it from basically anywhere else in Europe. Switzerland or Austria probably.
There are cases of NTSC games running on Pal consoles, but it's more the exeption then the rule.

Well, I for one am stoked. I loved the first Dead Rising despite its few terrible flaws.

Japanese developers in particular seem to continue to make video games that are stuck in very 'gamey' conventions. The slowed death/restart system used in Dead Rising may appeal to some hardcore gamers, but I can tell you that any person who is only casually interested in games will instantly be turned off by it. Making a game that is basically designed so that you have to fail a few times and then play the same thing over and over again until you 'level up' to a point where the game is playable is an absolutely idiotic and rigid game device.

The timed play and harsh save points are okay to have if and only if they include a free-roaming mode right out of the box.

To illustrate my point, let me tell you a story: Dead Rising really frustrated me having to play through the beginning a few times to 'level up', but once I did this the game became very enjoyable and overall I ended up loving the game. Well, I have a friend who *loves* zombie movies and is a mild gamer, so after I finished DR, I figured I'd give it to him to enjoy. He started playing and was frustrated like me at the beginning. He just wanted to run around and kill zombies but the game is set up at the beginning to really discourage that as not only do you not start with much health or abilities, but the game also gives you a bunch of timed objectives that they *push* you towards (and you have a really hard time completing the first time through because you're so weak).

So all he wants to do is enjoy killing zombies and the game is actively fighting to stop him from enjoying it! If that's not some absolutely slowed game design, I don't know what is. So I just kept telling him: "Just wait, it gets better. Just a little further it gets awesome. Oh just go ahead and die and restart, it's better that way, etc, etc, etc." Of course he just got frustrated and quit before it ever got good.

Moral of the story: Dead Rising 2 better have some modes designed to allow newbies and casual gamers to muck around with it, and if they don't Capcom will have absolutely lost their brains (pun intended).

@Yakface: I know eactly what you mean. I started the games 3 times before I finally got around to beat some of the story missions and then I needed to check some things online, because I didn't want to play through the "plot" a second time, just because I missed the point where I can get to the special ending.

@stonefox: These are only the first shots. Cosidering that even Resident Evil has Co-Op these days it wouldn't surprise me if DR2 would get one too.

I just hope Frank shows up at some point, but he's probably somewhere else, covering wars ya'know....

I haven't played it but the reviews were horribleNot nearly as many Zombies as in the original, fewer weapons and no camera. Stay away from it!

Here's hoping that it will be an improvement over the first game, I'm with what Yakface said on the first game. It could also do with more forgiving boss fights that don't require to you run at someone with a .50 sniper rifle having nothing but a parasol and a camera.
