Cent man, it's your own tournament, with your own rules - so why are you using Kill Points?

Because, like it or not, they are part of 5e?

Because we have no prejudice...all armies are equally worthless in our eyes. Our goal is to spread the hatred around equally.

Greg (Inq. Malice) and I wanted to try and make sure that every army feels equally screwed. We've got the "screw the big ones" mission, the "screw the shooters" mission, the "screw the MSU" mission, and one that we didn't play in the primer (because the primer was only 3 games), the "screw the assaulters" mission. The Primary/Secondary/Tertiary structure itself punishes armies that don't have enough units to go after multiple objectives simultaneously, etc.

No, we want everyone to love the missions...but we want every army to be challenged by them as well.

Which is a nice way of balancing against players who choose to take loads of MSU to give them more scoring units... except for one problem:

Guard players have no choice here.

Not good enough. The Adepticon guys have no qualms about changing rules in the INAT FAQ, and they are writing their own missions (which is a good idea, given how few there are in the 5th Ed rulebook), so why include one of the parts of 5th Ed that is so universally reviled?

Which one do you consider the 'screw the shooters' mission

[crossing fingers that the unseen 4th mission doesn't allow you to pick an enemy unit to stay off the table until turn 4]

Nah, I figure the free Vortex Grenade is the "screw the superheavy" mission.

"Screw the shooters" is probably the eclipse rules - night fight on turns 3 & 4 can be a bit rough, as that's about when you need to be concentrating fire.

Did you read the Kill Points objective for Mission 3? It's a variant on the 'Ard Boyz KP setup, where a whole PLATOON is a single KP. And yes, "normal" KP played a role as well (secondary, mission 1).

There's something to annoy everyone!
