Hello,

The question is simple : does the tank hunter USR works again against the monolith living metal rule ?

In the V4 necrons FAQ it used not to be working. Now we are in V5 with a damn resilient monilith with new vehicle rules / damage table and funnily enough the V5 necron FAQ is no longer mentioning the cas of the tank hunter USR vs a monolith...done by design or just not to beat a dead horse ?

Thanks in advance,
Wilme

No, it does not. USRs are beaten by codex special rules, and the Necron codex specifically disallows extra armor penetration.

Actully the problem lies in the fact that the tank hunter USR don't :
- change the armour value of the monolith
- do not give additional penetration dice
(what is the living metal rule protecting the monolith from).

What it does is add +1 to the penetration roll...

Hence, by the RAW, the doubt is permitted to know if this bonus applies ;
Hence the former V4 FAQ...
Hence my question of this ruling no longer existing in the V5 FAQ...

Thanks for your input though...
Wilme

I don't mind standing corrected when I'm wrong.

Edit: I removed my response since I found the last thread regarding this subject (I just searched for "tank hunters living metal") and I'll let my post there do my talking:
