So in raw power terms, do the community think a horde army or a mobile army is more effective?

depending on mission objectives, but I would say mobile in the 5th edition, run helps hordes but it also helps the opponent stay away from the horde. The one who is more mobile has one the majority of the games in my circle, but maybe that is just around these parts.

North of you!

I would have to say mobile, the speed its just a very good thing to have, you can contest or capture far away objectives in the final turns, get into CC faster, although they are weaknesses; here it seems that the more mobile armies are tops

I refute you're reality and substitute my own!

Mobile, as orks are sorely lacking in anti tank weapons. It's easier to out-flank them if you use lots of ranged, or you can launch two-pronged pk assaults.

I voted for mobile as well, simply because of the awesome power of the 27" assault range.

Seeing as how everybody fields trukk mobile and only trukk mobile orks, I am going to have to go with mobile.

I think it's best to have a mix. You've got trukk boyz units to be cheap units to go kill/tie up key enemy units, then the 30 boy mobs behind them to do the real work.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

That's kinda what I was thinking too, but others here seem to think that mixing horde with mobile doesn't work for orks.

Well, they're probably bad players, and need one-dimensional lists to limit the amount of decision making they're forced into during a game.

I run horde list with 3*3 kans and 3*30 orks, lootas, mek and 10 strong ork unit to capture my objective for 1500 pts games. My opponents in "nowere to run" status all the time. I can't remember when they use more than one flamer on my orks last time. I don't need to be mobile ))))

Its not that having a mobile ork list is for simplicity, its that the awesome power of a potential 27" or more assault range in turn 2 is too incredibly fun to pass up!
