Sup folks. I don't post often but I just finished a conversion I was pretty happy with. It's a running ironclad dreadnought. The base model is a blackreach dread (great for conversion from the cost point). The arms came from a warmaching jack model. I just like the chainfist and heavy flamer instead of the hammer thing so that's how i equipped him. The theme for my marines is that they are a mercenary chapter cut off from the rest working their way back from far out. They have to use what they find to repair and upgrade so there are bits of orc, chaos marine, and tyranid throughout the entire force as armorplates, guns, etc...

Just for fun here is my first ironclad conversion. Equipped the same as the first just different looks.

Hope everyone enjoys em as much as I do.

I really like the first one. The skull looks like it came that way on the model, and the running pose is very well done. Those arms look awesome with a dread, and so I might have to get some myself.

So altogether good model. Get it painted now.

I like the conversion, but it seems abit off balance, I do not think a running dreadnought would sprint quite so erratically. He would have to be more controlled to avoid falling over, which would be bad, because he is very top heavy, has short legs and little arms.

Same mask i used on my Ironclad dread, really happy with it.

Pose looks great and i like the idea of the cut-off so everything is in dis-repair.

The mask and launchers look great. Not a fan of the pose though- the leg flying out behind is a bit too unstable for the sense of mass any dred, especially an ironclad, should carry. Otherwise nice work.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, in the pics the pose does look a bit dramatic because of the angle but it's not so extreme in person. He's also not glued to the base yet so I am gonna toy with it a bit to get it just right.

Thats the EXACT same idea I use on my Sm chapter. Weird. Except its just chaos parts they use.
EITHER WAY your dred is pretty damn cool. I dont think dreds can run per say, but who cares that thing looks like its hauling ass and about to do what dreds do best...... KILL THINGS! Nicely done all it needs now is a sweet paint job.

I started painting the dread this afternoon. I think that I have probably choses a scheme that isa bit to ambitious for my abilities or patience. I'm going with a solid blakc highlighted grey armor scheme with varying degrees of grey flames coming up from the legs. I'm a slow painter so it will be a while till it's all done but here are a couple of shots of the first bit.

A couple people have asked me about the hands now. They came off a warmachine heavy jack. I think it's called a crusader or a reclaimer but to me they just said cut me off i'll look hawt on a dread.

Absolutely going to have to try this now. The running pose is a little bit wierd but overall it's an awesome conversion and I can't wait to see the paint all the way done.

the flames are done in some of the foundations greys then metallic parts are done with boltgun metal, washed with gryphonne sepia, then highlighted again with boltgun.

What bit is the left close combat weapon from the second dready?
Don't know what that ugly alpha sign does there.
Are the flame's supposed to create a camo effect, if so use it at the back aswell

great repositiong of legs.
Lucky were in SCI-Fi world, because realisticly the legs can't hold that with the weight that's on them .

The CCW on the 2nd dread is parts from a shenlong gundam model.
The al sign is the Ultramarine logo, these guuys gotta use whatever they can for repairs since they are cut off from the imperium.
The flames aren't for camo or anything they are just the paint scheme I wanted to use. I wanted to add more of them to the back but there just weren't any good places to put them.

Awesome I like how you have it runnng full tilt. As opposed to everyone else this is how I like to see dreads. I think they are more agile than they appear.

The base needs a grot in front of the right leg it looks like it is getting ready for a football kick off.
And the grot goes 60 yards for the kicking team.
Nice paint tho
