For my ork army I was thinking about modelling all of my nobs as butchers, (kind of like the fantasy ogre butcher, and kinda khorny but, y'know, not)
i was thinking that my army could be obsessed with eating (every choppa will be painted like a cleaver ) but do you think orks might cook up slain enemy guardsmen for example? i mean... what do they eat

I believe Orks eat squigs and fungus. Squigs are livestock to them, and they are fungus-based life forms.

Well, my wife's orks all have bewbs and her nobs wear pink jumpsuits. She says they're girls, regardless of the spore lore. So do what you want with your army...she did.

Well, it's been known for Tankbustas to eat the scraps of tanks they've destroyed in battle, as well as the crew inside, so I wouldn't discount orks from eating people. Considering orks aren't very picky in every other part of their lifestyle, I'd imagine they wouldn't be too choosey about their food either, be it squig, man, or warpbeast.

If you really want to, do it anyway. I think Orkies would be more likely to cook up guardsmen while they're alive, though...

Its a game. You have leeway to do whatever you like.

I have a friend who chose to demonstrate that his deff-dreads were up-armored by nailing Gretchin all over the hull. You could do the same with Guardsman, or with your butchery theme, use some rokkit packs and convert them so that instead of a backpack full of rokkits, you have a backpack full of body parts!

You slugga/choppa combinations could be replaced with slugga / limbs. Instead of a sword or spiky axe, your guys wade into close combat flailing the torn off (and slightly gnawed upon) limbs of your enemy dead!

Well, in the fluff for fantasy orks it says that after every (succesfull) battle they throw whole animal carcasses and all the dead bodys they can find into huge roasting pits and have a huge BBQ in the evening (kinda). As far as i know this doesnt translate into the 40K canon, but what the hell, they are orks for petes sake! do whatever you want!

Yea, don't see anything wrong with specialist Ork groups, very Orky. As long as the group does something that contributes to killing, destroying or burning then I'd say they're good to go.
I've actually made a mob of 5 boyz with Butcher knives for my Mad Dok and two Cybork Nobz for him, will post soon.

im gonna see if i can make all my choppas butcher's knives, which shouldn't be hard, as i basically just cut the point off
