When I first started hearing about a remake of Hellraiser, I was seriously pessimistic, because I didn't think it could be done anywhere near as well as the original. Next to Prince of Darkness, the first two Hellraiser movies are damned near the best depictions of pure evil that have ever been put on film. Then I spotted an article about this on CHUD and as soon as I saw the video, I was sure that if they do use his work and the rest of the development is as good, it will be a truly horrific masterpiece.

Looking good so far, but Pinhead is 90% presence.
When Doug Bradley was on screen, he positively exuded menace...the portrayal was soooo good!

I find the hell raiser series amusing, mostly because the "main character" pin head, started out as sort of a secondary afterthough in the first movie. He's on screen for less than 2 min and has nothing to do with the story. Guess it's kind of like Boba Fet, except that he then got the next few movies made with his as a major character rather than an extra.

I prefer the old Pinhead look better, the ordered nature of it made the sheer sadism of the character that much more shocking.

I love the design for hellraizer characters.
Doesnt some of the Dark Eldar sybarites ressemble them?

All I need to know is that sexy beast CLIVE BARKER came up with the idea, and I'll give it a try. Gawd Clive, I hate you for making Abarat. Such a good book.

QFT
Also, with the current design, I could easily see the shadows of the nails just lining up with the scars. Tangents always kill any design for me.

I just hope the remake is as slick as the original Hellraiser (never bothered with the sequels) and that they keep the Cenobite's role to the minimal screen time they had in the first one.
