I recently read the BL fantasy novel Blood for the Blood God! and loved the story. The main character was the Skulltaker and his imagery inspired me to start a new army... finally! So here are some pictures to share with all you deamon lovers out there!

I wanted a very dynamic look for the Bloodletters so I spent a lot of time working on the bases... otherwise they tend to model up looking like an ape running along the ground. For a 40k theme I have added a lot of rubble to the bases:

It actually took less time to model the Bloodcrusher and he is intended to have the same look and feel as the Bloodletters:

C&C most welcome.

well, you achieved the dynamic poses fine

allthough a daemon that leaves a fiery brand on whatever he walks over may not like what happens when he stands on that missile

also, what were the crushers like to put together?
im yet to assemble any, and from what ive heard they are annoying and need pinning in places.

This is my first BC and he went together very easy. It's a nice piece of kit for sure.

I like them alot. the missle climber is awesome. My only thing is the banner on the jugger. the jugger has wonderful movement like look to it. but the banner is standing still. if you could GS or CS a new one wavving behind him it would look boss!

They look good - can't wait to see them painted.

Cheers

I really like the base work. That will give your army a dynamic action oriented look.

Good job!

The new Bloodletters look less stupidly ugly and more freakishly awesome when they're climbing something.

Good call.

Excellent point Fafnir. The new bloodletters were a step down in quality from the old ones in IMHO. However putting them in the dynamic poses overcomes that.

Are you taking these to Adepticon? (I assume you are going)

The only thing I dont like is that the crusher with the banner is half off his base, throws the whole model off balance visually.

What is the list you are using if you dont mind me asking?

I havent done it but eyeballing they will fit probably 8 in a sabol 3"

I positioned the juggernaught like that to make the charge appear more dynamic. The next one I would like position so the mount is rearing rodeo style.

I don't know if I'll have the army completed in time for adepticon... It takes about two to three hours to assemble and mount one Bloodletter.

Here is the abbreviated list:

Bloodthirster
Skulltaker/juggernaught

5x Bloodcrusher
6x Bloodcrusher

3x 12x Bloodletter

2x Soul Grinder

Cool. Id like to see it when you get done Its a daydream list of mine. Like the 12 immolator list. Although I am actually thinking this might become a reality compared to the 12 immolators of painting boredom.

I understand now that you explain the positioning. It could just be the picture too.

You could have it done by then. All I have done is three wraithlords and the frame for my display board. I have to do a couple random armies, and then an army for a Toledo guy and a BoLS guy and then I am taking two weeks to finish it.

They're coming out great so far I PM you a link to a picture of what I am making for Blood crushers

The poses are great for the blood letters. Are you going to paint them so they are brighter? or Darker?

Hmm where did you find this BloodThirster?:
