I have been trying to get into miniature gaming for a while, and planned to play 40K Orks. But I just realized that as much as I would love building some battlewagons, and love the idea of playing Orks, I have no desire to paint Orks. I thought about what i would like to paint, and all I can say is 'armor.' So Space marines or Chaos Space marines are the options that I see for 40K.

But Chaos Warriors and Brettonia are other options if I look at WHFB.

From what I understand neither army has a new book yet. But Warriors has a pdf that can be used until the new book comes out. i also read there are newer models for Chaos.

Is a new book on the horizon for Brettonia? Is the current book way out of date for the current rules? Are the Brettonia moddels fairly new, or are there new ones in the future?

Could anyone make a recommendation one way or the other for a fairly new player to warhammer, between chaos and brettonia?
