Put it in hot water for a minute or two, gently bend.

92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment

Hot water, bend to shape.

What's so hard about that, luna?

Do you need a redshirt to paint and assemble your stuff, too? Are you not old enough to be trusted with tools?

I never prepare incomplete resins kits before , and for something that cost that much
and that fragile , honestly , no i dont trust myself to be able do it.

Yes the idea of bending a solid piece of thin material into a curved shape seriously worries me.

Do they need to paint my stuff? i dunno, i think my gallery looks ok.

Not sure I trust my local redshirts with "safety scissors" (those curved blunt tip ones they let small kids use) - let alone clippers - and some of them are definitely too emo to be trusted around a hobby knife.

Shaping those tentacle things is actually rather easy. Hot water (NOT boiling). Slowly bend (fingers close together, not at opposite ends) until desired shape is reached. If you get too much resistance, put back into water. Once you have the desired shape, place into cool water and let it reharden.

A friend of mine has a Zarak'ynel (or whatever she's called) model. I got asked to help him assemble her (much more experience at working with resin than him).

Admittedly, it's something that most teenagers can't manage (it's a patience thing - around here, something in short supply to teens who want it all NOW.). Slowly and carefully is the way to work.

Sorry if that sounds condescending to teens, but they really are (from my grumpy old man pov) an impatient llot who want it all done quickly. With this stuff, you can't rush it.

Resin is really good to work with. Make sure you clean it first. I recommend soaking it in Simple Green. I think FW recommends soap and water, but I know you can download their instructions.

K so basically soak and bend it in hot water ( as much as i can tolerate ) till desired curve.

What happens if i dont soak it in cold water after? and just lay it in towel to dry? will it have less effect?

You don't have to do a cold water soak after. It hardens again REALLY fast.

The best way to do it is drill the head and the dreadlok for pins. Put the pin in the hair glue the pin. Hold the pin with pliers dip the hair to just beyond where you want the bend in tea hot water soak till the thick part moves easy. Place on the head and bend how you want it repeat for the thin part.

? You don't have pliers how about tongs just something to hold the pin. You definitely want to pin this model do you have a pin vice they help a lot. Wash it very well.

Thats just a horrendous model. Always consider transport. If it doesnt fit and feel safe in a sabol I dont buy the model.

I would reccomend magnetizing the head on that thing because you cannot do it at the torso. You could also pin it and not glue it, that would make it safe to transport. Also that model is awesomly sculpted, have you ever seen one assembeled? It makes the regular one look like peanuts.

Ugh this isnt going too well guys.

Even with pinning the parts wouldn't line up 100%
how do i make them stick together snugly?

because unlike plastic, the place where resin parts are supposed to meet usually
have *injection tabs? . ( i have no idea why they designed it where
the connecting parts are where the tabs are...)

*also regarding sanding / filing resin produce harmful dusts, would doing it underwater
solve the problem?

show pics maybe your not cutting off all of the sprew.
do you have a dust mask you can get one from a hardware store for cheap.
I don't think you need to worry about the dust unless you have clouds of dust any way.
my titan had huge sprew attachment points and I didn't have a problem.

These are the kind you want if you are worried tho.
Good luck.
