Hello there, fellow Dakkadakkaians. I'm planning on putting together a 1500pts ork army, as you might have figured out due to the title. The following list is what I have in mind. However, I feel that I have to little anti-tank in the army (at least ranged anti-tank), and I really don't like to put rokkits in my mobs of boyz, because I want the other 26 orks to shoot at stuff they actually can hurt. I have no clue how well versed the Bikers will be against tanks, therefore I'm thinking about including a pair of Killa Kans with Grotzooka or maybe more buggies. The problem is, I don't know what to take out. How does the list look? Do I even need more AT, or do I have to much? Too many toyz, not enough boyz? I ould really appriciate every shared thought or comment.

The big problem with orks is that they cant deal with heavy tanks particularly well. Its their armies weekness so i wouldnt worry about it too much. That said its still a good idea to take lots of rokkits because S8 weapons are always good. Its not like their expensive either. Drop the red paint job from the buggies to get some more rokkits.

Other than that it look ok.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

and i would drop the warbuggies. there open topped have bad BS (yes i kno ur using orks)
and would purchase sum killa kanz instead with either rokkit launchaz(tank hunting) or kustom mega blastaz(light vehicles + dose pesky marines)

and drop sum lootaz for boss Zagstruk for dem stormboys you cant turn down Initiative 4 power claw attacks

Do not drop Lootas. Ever. In fact, I would drop the Stormboyz and Buggies for more of them. Running between 30-45 is just disgusting. Of course, I also think you might want to split those mobs into 20s, so you can be more flexible.

Heavy tanks aren't a major problem with those Bikers, either. I use mine for busting tanks and other hard units. Works like a charm. Str9 and Str10 PKs striking on rear armor is just great and with 18" total assault range, you can easily get to them.

With the large sized mobs of boys and the PKs with the nob bikers and warboss says to me that you have all you need to deal with armour - the speed of the nobs and the resilience of the boys are gonna pay off.

I have never seen warbuggies used by my regular ork opponent and looking at what it's armed with I wouldn't put them in the list. Take 'em out and add more lootaz or stormboyz.

Warbuggies don't really need red paint - save it for Trukks and battlewagons.

Honestly, I'd sub out the warbuggies for deffcoptas.

Taking twin-linked rokkit shots against front armor < taking twin-linked rokkit shots against rear armor.

Have a few squads of 1-2 deffcoptas, give them twin-linked rokkits, and have them outflank (unless you deploy first and want to turbo-boost them in your scout move). With outflank or a turboboost + normal move (36" you can get in behind tanks and get side/rear armor shots with your rokkits.

Ugh. Deffkoptas always let me down. I say, with the saved points, get more Lootas (drop the Stormboyz for more too!). Trust me, they will help a lot. If I had the money, I would be fielding 30-45 in any given game, just because they scare the crap out of people and with 45, roll a 5-6 for each mob and you get 270 shots. Disgusting!

Thanks guys, I really appriciate all the input! I'll drop the buggies, and I'll think about splitting the Boyz into 3x20. Playtesting against the local guys will determine what is best when it comes to them. Lovedaorks suggested Zagstruk, while MNOP said I shouldn't drop any lootas. I've heard mixed reviews when it comes to the Deffkoptas, so I'll think I will skip those. I really love Stormboyz, but I'll probably just put those aside for larger battles, and instead focus on Lootas.

Changes!:

-Warbuggies (120)
-Stormboyz (185)
+ Nob for 3rd 20-ork mob (40)
+15 Lootas (225)
+3 Rokkit Launchas for the boyz (30)

Which leaves me with 10 points. Suggestions? I'm thinking of maybe adding 2 Big Choppas for the Nob bikers, but I fear that might be a bit overkill. Perhaps a kombi-skorcha or two?

Are your Nobs unique groups?

If not, sink points into making that happen. Much stronger that way.

On the subject of the Nobs, if they are on their bikes, can you give them combi-rokkits and runts, just for that one-off salvo of 5 twin-linked rokkits?

When you do that, klaws or big choppas are a good idea too.

Of course I have them as unqiue groups! ^^

i don't see one-shot rokkits being of much use, because whatever I'll shoot on, I must assault, and I don't want the thing I'm planning on assaulting tipping over and explode from the rokkits. And at 8 points a model for a one shot TL'ed rokkit, I much rather sink those points into a Nob w/ Power Klaw and bosspole for a unit. Just so that every mob can take on a rhino or something. Big Choppas it is. I think. I have some time to figure it out.

5 bikers is scary. It is a lot of points, and one decent blast template will send the survivors running. Add a couple more with at least one more power klaw. I would ditch the rokkits and get 3 big shootas in each shoota mob. You nobs are the anti tank force, use them for it. Split the boss off and let him kill a tank and the bikers take another one. Try to keep in cover and continue shooting and pushing forward with your boyz as the nobs wreak havok. They will close the game for you.
