Subject: 1,000pts Orks, and the continuing utility of Shootas

Hey all!
I have 2 main things I need advice on... My 1,000pt list which I will build and field within the next week, and forecasting the usefullness of shoota boyz. I don't know if ya'll have seen the IG "document", but it scares me. Not because of any specific weapon, anything that has been hyped. No, I'm afraid because in a few months I might not want to be running 100+ shoota mobs, and instead go for something a bit more speedy because of the horde-hate. But to do that, I'd use sluggas then... You see my problem? I'd have to rip apart a great deal of shootas, or buy many more boyz (with money I don't have). So I also ask of you, do you think the new IG codex will push Orks once again to a more KoS list? Will horde lists continue to be viable with the extreme amount of crippling firepower IG will be able to dish out? And if not, what should I do with all the slugga mobs right now for this list (I have no trukks)?
Anyway, here's the list:
1000pts Bad Moons
Headquarters- 85
Big Mek (Kustom Force Field)
Elites- 120
8 Lootas (Deffguns)
Troops- 220
30 Shoota Boyz (Nob w/ Power Klaw & Bosspole)
Troops- 220
30 Shoota Boyz (Nob w/ Power Klaw & Bosspole)
Troops- 220
30 Shoota Boyz (Nob w/ Power Klaw & Bosspole)
Fast Attack- 135
3 Deffkoptas (Twin-linked Rokkit Launchas)
Total Points: 1,000
Total Models: 102
What are your thoughts on the list? I feel like it's pretty flexible; I can deal with cheap carni's, I have copious large mobs that can shoot or get stuck in with the multi-purpose klaw, and I can cover my back with a small amount of Lootas, probably the minimum amount they can be somewhat effective with. I can reach the corners with the Lootas and koptas, and I've got some mild protection from the KFF. Seem's like a pretty safe list to play, but I want to know your thoughts.
And yes, I need your thoughts on whether I should build 90 shootas, or start aiming for a more KoS or differently-styled army. I just feel I'm not going to have enough answers to circumvent pinning, copious large blasts, and cover-denying spam in the future.
Thanks!

good but at 1000 or less 120 boys are unstoppable (throw in some rokkits in case you need them) bt other than that 120 boys will roll anything at 1K.

its not bad, but the loota unit is too small, they will run off pretty quickly.
if your taking them then go for a max unit to make sure they stay about.

But I still need those rokkits, right? I mean for carni's, leman russes, and the odd land raider. Right now I have all the models for this list, but I don't have more lootas or koptas. I could still switch out all the shootas for sluggas, and I have 30 more sluggas already made.
I figure these extra nice bits, the koptas and lootas, allow me to deal with things my mobs couldn't reach. But would I just be fine taking 4 boyz mobs split 50/50, sluggas with rokkits, and a KFF? What would that look like...
85
250
250
200 Big choppa instead of PK
200 same
That would be 120 boyz, 6 rokkits, 2 pk's, 2 big choppas... And I think if I kept the sluggas mainly in front, and shootas mainly behind them, I could snag 'em all under the kff.
I'm not sold on that variant though, I mean, doesn't that mean that against mobile armies, and high-armour ones, I'm screwed?
Thanks!

for 1k points you most likely wont be running into any land raiders. Even if you do a runnin ork mob covers roughly 9 inches a turn trust me you can reach any armor on the board unless they spend turns just running away from you then they are not shooting. The only army that can run circles around you is a bike army then you just sit back and blaze away they dont have the numbers (sit on the objectives and make them come to you). Trust me it works, play test it out if you can. but 120+ screaming orks in a 1k game wont be beat very easily.
30 boys w/ 3 rokkits and a PK is what 245 times 3 is 735 a 100 point BM or WB for 850 throw in 11 tank bustas for 165 gives you 1k and 101 models plenty of boys plenty of rokkits. swap out the 9 rokkits for boys and just run every turn, with the bustas as support and you have 90 points left over.

So what you're saying is something more like this?
Headquarters- 85
Big Mek (Kustom Force Field)
Elites- 150
10 Tankbustas (Rokkits)
Troops- 220
30 Slugga Boyz (Nob w/ Power Klaw & Bosspole)
Troops- 220
30 Slugga Boyz (Nob w/ Power Klaw & Bosspole)
Troops- 162
27 Shoota Boyz
Troops- 162
27 Shoota Boyz
Total Points: 999
Total Models: 125
I don't know man, I mean that's a lot of boyz, but... all my firepower's in one basket, and I only have 2 pk's. I just don't know... My first list seems pretty solid, I just feel like I might be compromising too much when I drop the lootas and koptas, you know?
