With so many cool things going on our groups had to have a go. Our first campaigns planned for sometime around Easter, starting off small ending with a huge apocalyspe game where the players will have to cmoplete objectives while dodging all the cross-fire!

The rough plot line so far -

an Iquisitor has order Exterminatus on a planet (reasons classified - one of the players aims), but before the orders carried out he has dispatched his most trustworthy henchman to track down an energy signal and recover anything useful (he believes it to be STC technology). However only scrambled messages report back and don't come through his coded channel meaning others have also been alerted that something lies beneath the surface of the planet.......

He's some models I was mucking about with last night. They won't all form the same warband but will be some of the NPCs, along with my space marine company plus Ad Mech force who are quite keen to get their mechandriates on whatever secrets the planet holds.

Purist Inquisitor - I'm tempted to go along the complty pure route with this guy to make him dangerous - he scrubs his own mind after each msision, either acts alone or 'clenses' his companions and executes/destroys/disposes of any Xenos/heretic/mutant scum etc. including anyone who has come in

Great conversions, I really like the henchmen and the Inquistor looks great.

Don't you have these on Warseer also?

One thing I'd say about the inquistor, just a very tiny thing mind you, is that it would be a good idea to remove the mould lines on his arm holding the sword. Just a little work to smooth that arm down at the joint and it would look much nicer.

Aside from that its an interesting an imposing conversion.

Although I must say that the henchmen are the ones that really stand out to me in terms of originality and creative conversions.

Can we have shots of the sides and back?

And more focus?

I think it looks really great, but I can't really appreciate it to the fullest.

I agree with Paul, some more shots of the heavy would be nice from other angles.

Love that servo harness though very Aliens!

2 tiny points,

1. why are all 40k scale inquisitors in power armour?? just bugs me, theres no reason for your inquisitor to wear power armour if he's essentially on a retreival mission plus he'll stick out like a sore thumb and be vulnerable to emp based attacks.

2. the shell cases on the heavy weapons guy, are the wrong way round...as in the back of the shell case is facing front, have a look youll see what i mean

ahhh bugger! Will change the cases. That's what happens when you're working late at night I guess! Will try to get more photos although more focus may be difficult (no photography skills!).

Power armoured inquisitors - I know exactly what you mean and do agree, I just really wanted to have a go at making a 'large marine' as I had the bits lying around and the pictures do look cool. Will be making one or two others as well for the campaign (one Ad Mechy based ). I'm personally also a little anoyed at how many 'witch hunter' theme ones are about. I may do one as an alien breeder/exploer type character with a host of 'pets'. Could be something a little different to the usual.

GREAT START!!

It's lovely to see how much one can do with plastics these days. I'd try to find some small detail to distinguish your =I= from marines. Maybe tons of small stubbs on his armour? BUT most importantly, I'd remove the backpack, it's such a marinesque icon.

Nice conversions. I definitely agree about removing the backpack. It just screams Space Marine in a loud way. Maybe replacing it with a large tome or a holstered shotgun or other suitable weapon or both. Maybe even a cloak of some description. Other than that minor point, top notch stuff.

Yeh, I'm not keen on the back pack, and the size doesn't really sit with me. I want something (I love the idea from the RTB01 sketches that the 'ball' part are anti grav thrusters to help with the weight) yet don't want it confused with a terminator. May try a cylinder type device. I'm going for a non-marine paint scheme to try to differentiate it (the size also helps too). Thinking white/cream with brown/red marble vies and gold. Debating the sword colour though, I don't really like red, but I'm not sure if my usual blue/purple for powerweapons would fit with the armour. Maybe grey/white with green marble? What do you think? And thanks for the comment migsula - means quite a bit from you

ooo idea from the tome - what about a 'cloak' made from purity seals with long lengths of parchment? What would be the best way to make one? It would fit quite well with the colour scheme I think.

or

twin linked shoulder/back mounted psy-cannons? one either side of the head?

That's a nice idea and would definitely scream puritan. How is your green stuff skills? That would be the way to go. If memory serves there is a pic in the Inquisitor rulebook of somebody with purity seals with long parchment, might be worth a look (if you haven't already).

I'm not sure about the psy-cannons though. It might work but it might not.

That's a soare point - my inquisitor rulesbooks gone AWOL! Green stuff - I'm fine with the wax part but struggle with the thinner parchment section to make it keep it's shape. I've tried wire before but it tends to look a little thick for parchment type effects. maybe thick paper coated in PVA?

I am told that cutting up soda cans make for great purity seal parchment. I haven't tried it yet, but I have it on good authority.

Paper would work, I used it to make a long pennant for on a Khorne Chaos Space Marine Lord's glaive back when the had the the Berzerker Glaive. Just be careful with the glue so it doesn't leave clumps.

If I knew, I'd tell you.

Looks really nice for an inquisitor however you need to make it less like a space marine and more like a man of the inquisition.

Hi all. Have started painting at last (sorry, no pics yet). In the end I didn't make a cloack, couldn't get it to look right. I did replace the back pack with an older chaos marine one. Will see how it turns out after painting. As for now have come up with some rules for the Inquisitor, what do people think?

Inquisitor Hector Porthosse

WS BS S T I A W LD
5 4 3 3(5) 5 4 3 10

Weapons and Equipment:

Artificer Armour (incorporating Vox Caster)
Master Crafted Power Sword
Artificer Power Fist - Strikes at normal initiative and counts as a second combat weapon.
Purity seals
Void Field - increases toughness by 2 against ranged attacks (included in profile)

Special Rules

Furious Assault.

Be Clean!
If Hector is not in combat with an enemy and a model in the same warband has made base to base contact with an enemy then Hector must move towards and engage his own team member in close combat, either until the team mate has been 'cleasened' of an enemy becomes the closest target, at which point Hector may act normally.

Cleanse and Be Sure.
Due to his belief in estroying the enemy, Hector will never used a ranged attack, prefering to always kill his foes rather than risk them escaping with a bullet in the chest.

These are awesome I'd suggest you look at Tyruses power armour for the Inquisitor he's got a great non-marine suit of Power Armour if you know what I mean. Love the head on the Inqyuisitor where did it come from?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Head is from the Empire Hero plastic kit (foot and mounted). It's a fantasic little set! Also gave me the rouge traders arms, a fantastic looking pirate captain for my mordhiem band with some bits still left. The horse is tempting me to have a go at a powered armour one with a marine captain riding it, although that's a project for much later with the new guard release nearly here not to mention the 40+ troops I've already got on the painting table for my 40K army! I would reconmend the warhamemr carachter kits to anyone. Wish they'ed come up with some for 40K - the marine hero's ok for options but doesn't have the same wow factor. It's just a kit of options rather than being able to make loads of heros. The Chaos one does look tempting though. If anyone from GW is reading more please!!!! And also while you're at it more expansions like the black templar and dark angel upgrade sprues!

Anyway, back on topic, have started putting together a 5 strong PDF force (based of others on here, thanks for the inspiration dakka!). They may be joined by an ogryn but I'm also looking at converting them a Chimera with 6 wheels (one was shown on the back of a WD yonks ago for Necromunda) - anyone know where to get good looking wheels from without having to buy an expensive model kit? I'm thinking K'nex as I have some with extra detail added on the rims so they don't look so toy like.

Judging from those pics, Hector looks good.
Lovely cream colour you got going there.

I think he still needs something to identify him as an Inquisitor instead of a Space Marine.
Maybe paint the Inquisitional =I= on his tabard and/or the bronze part of his left shoulder?
