I thought this could potentially be made into something of a Tau battlesuit with an Armor value.

It's a Kotobukiya model from the Anime Ghost in the Shell.

Actually, that really looks like it has potential. Certainly better than the usual Gundam with some Hammerhead weapons glued to it. What's it from? How big is it?

Here's some ideas:

Maybe replace the minigun with a burst cannon, add Broadside railguns to its arms Crisis-style. Raise it up on its toes, so it has hooves like a proper Tau-oid mech. A smart-missile system on either side of the head, and modify the head to resemble the XV-25 and XV-22. Lose the hands/claws and add a twin-linked markerlight bundle to each wrist-stump.

Ah, thanks. I knew it from somewhere but couldn't place it.

Kotobukiya makes fantastic kits.

Here are the specs.

From Mamoru ( Ghost In The Shell) Oshii's Patlabor: The Movie 2 comes the AL-97B Improved Hannibal of the Ground Self-Defense Force. This Fine Scale Model Kit of the Hannibal includes translucent parts over the search lights, and special plastic parts for the joints that permits the Hannibal to assume many dynamic poses. This incredibly detailed kit requires snap-fit assembly of its 200+ plastic parts, and does require painting, although you may choose to customize or detail the combat mech as you see fit. Measuring at 1:72 scale, the robot is approximately 5 ½-inches tall. Also included are pictorial assembly instructions to guide you in the process of making this wonderful aircraft!

Ah so its from Patlabor

that explains my going "Why do I only see the Spider-Tanks listed on HLJ and no power suits"

Also, as a though, since its only 1/72 thats going to be really small. Labors are no where near as big as Gundams, and are actually closer to Crisis Suit Height. The MG 1/35 Labor kits are about the same height as a 1/100 Gundam kit.

Fair enough, where are you getting that blurb from anyway, since HLJ doesn't have the 'about 5.5in' comment

yeah I read that in your previous post. I was just curious what store you were getting the info from, as they appear to have more information then HLJ, and its always nice to shop around.

Ahha! $35 for a 5 1/2 inch model with over 200+ customizable parts? This is defiantly looking like a Tau AV battlesuit.

HLJ's a good site. I used to do a lot of ordering off of them. They're kind of slow, but they're really reliable.

Hmm, do models like this prime very well, or do they prime at all.
