Moin Dakka!
I have 0 experience with using magnets with my models but have always thought about the practical advantages. Yesterday I bought 25 small (20mm) magnets for my two wave serpents. The turret weapons are just too tempting not to magnetize. Question is now how to do it. Is there a way to magnetize only the weapons or is the best way to magnetize the whole turret which I had to buy two more then.
Insights would be greatly appreciated, also basic tips and tricks for using magnets!

You can put very small magnets inside the hole on the guns that normally the post would go through. That means that you then have to cut the posts off short, put magnets on the posts, and more magnets on the inside of the gun shielding. It's involved, but it works.

Thanks for the quick answer, I am currently puzzling to see how they fit. What about painting, is it a problem to paint the "non-sticky" side to blend them into the model?

Having done what Redbeard suggested, I will warn you that (at least in my experience) the weapons will want to rotate around and can be annoying to deal with, especially since they won't move together. I'd suggest simply not magnetizing but also not gluing any of the turret weapon bits, as the fit along the "axle" is snug enough that the weapons won't move, but loose enough that you can still slide the individual weapons off and replace as needed.
