I'm just getting back into the hobby after about a 10 year break. I was never much of a painter so I need to get most my models painted up. My question is this, would the paints I have (about 8 to 10 years old) still be usable? Or would they just cause too many problems?

Thanks!

It depends on how wet they are if they are a dry hunk toss them if they have water in them you can save them.
Go to a pharmacy and get a eye dropper. Mix the paint with a tooth pic till the water in the pot is incorporated with the paint. Wipe the paint off the tooth pic swirl it in the paint then pull it out to check the thickness of the paint you want it a little thicker than thin pancake batter. There you have workable paint. I have some original gw paint and they are still good.

Excellent thanks! Guess it will be a case by case basis as I go though and check them out. Most all of it is the old style citadel paint pots, they tended to stay very tightly sealed.

luckily the older paints have a long life span.
i still use some of the very 1st citadel ones lol, and they work fine after all these years.

as said, a small ammount of water tends to work in most cases, however some of the new ones dry out pretty quickly and go rock solid.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
