I am really still very new to using Greenstuff, but I want to do up a nifty Chaos Space Marine army themed to the Death Shadows. I love the cloaked look on Space Marines, so this was a natural choice since I want a nice, cheesy list to run for local tourneys.

Here is what I will need to make:
1x Squad "Counts-as" Khorne Berserkers - Chainswords, dynamic poses, swirling cloaks a bit
2x Squads "Counts-as" Plague Marines - Less dynamic, two Meltas per Squad (getting ones off GW, unless someone knows an easier way to get them).

I am going to buy 3 Boxes of CSMs and a few packs of Greenstuff. What I am looking for are tutorials or suggestions. Also, I could use some tools, but I have no idea what would be best for this. Also, I want to use chainswords, so what would be the best way of getting the 8-9 of them that I need? Bitz? I have one or two old ones, should I make temp. molds for them?

Anyhow, if I get this under way soon enough, I will do up WiP pics and stuff until they are done.

Use the dark angel sprew bits it has robes and such on it already that is what gw did.
If you want to use green stuff there are better here than me for robes.

That Dark Angels upgrade kit is $20, which is steep for only a few usable parts. I didn't see that my first go 'round on the GW site, so thanks for the idea. I just feel it is way too expensive to go that route compared to some basic CSMs and GS work (and I can add a nice level of dynamism to my Counts-As Zerkers).

chainswords will be no problem if your buying the csm box set then you get the chainsword and bolt pistol arms aswell as the bolter arms, for greenstuffing robes the way i started out learning was to mix the gs and leave it for 30-45 mins then roll it into a sheet on some grease proof paper so you an peel it off then cut sections and wrap it around your model to create the base fort the robes and where you want them to be, then once that has cured build up the folds using sausages of gs pressed on and smoothed out i hope this helps

Well, I found a great tutorial on CMON. It shows how to sculpt "Black Templar"-style robes. That will help a ton!

Does the CSM Box come with a lot of Chainswords? I need about 10 of them. I am going to put my Counts-As Berserkers in some really dynamic poses and the Chainswords will be what marks them as such, so if I don't need to cast them, that would be great.

Thanks for the tip on letting it cure a bit. That may be what I am doing wrong on other projects.

Just get the berzerkers then you dont have to worry about it and you can bit order the bits from battlewagon bits or the sprew. I thought the upgrade pack was $25.

the lazy, but wealthy man could look into the collector's version of the Dark Angels marines - with the groovy robes. Quick swap out with CSM arms and Packs and you're done.

I am the opposite. I am not lazy at all, but I only have so much to devote to this project.

Also, sonofruss, I would rather get basic CSMs, as their stuff lines up better with the Death Shadow theme over the Khorne iconography. I also do not want Chain Axes, I want Chainswords.

I might buy one or two Dark Angels, just to have an example in front of me of how the cloaks rest on armor. Otherwise, I am going to go the labor-intensive route.
