Not seen any reference on Dakka, but apologies if this a duplicate thread

You'll need to scroll down a bit, but there's a nice pic of Plastic Greatswords regiment set. Together with the Steam Tank release, I might be heading back to the Empire. Now if I can only get those Halberdiers to rank up properly!

Indeedy do.

Got bored of Empire and went all Orcy halfway through painting, but these are certainly tempting me back.

They may make interesting figures for other games if they're not too caricatured. I wonder how the parts will mix with Brettonian infantry, handgunners and those Empire skirmisher guys.

I know a guy who made an entire flaggelant army, with converted greatswords. Looked very nice!

Personally I find the current metals looking way better, less puffy sleeve and all that poshy stuff.

I'd like to get a better look at the rank and file, but I REALLY like the command group. If I get some Mordheim going again, those guys are tagged for use! Looks like they've got some sweet =]I[=munda potential too.

Yeah, the other question about the Greatswords is if they'll have spare armor plates that will be amazingly useful on other models.

I got to say... I'm still just going to use converted Chaos Warriors.

now if they would only extend this philosophy to other Fantasy Lines (ie: most every elite infantry in the game).

Also, what the hell is this thing?! :

Prepare to be sodomized rigorously for it friend... That will likely be very expensive.

This is the first not-overly-serpentine dragon I've seen from GW. And considering their usual prices, I can't imagine this being more than 55USD.

So long as it's not over-the-top expensive, I'm getting one.

It seems bigger than the standard dragons by a fair bit. I wouldn't be surprised if it cost the same as a Baneblade.

I remember seeing that on Warseer I think, IIRC it's a sculpt that Trish Morrison did in her spare time or something like that.

Not slated for release or anything, just something she did for "fun".

Stuff the Sculptors did for fun? Thats what the collector range is all about, or so we are told.

Dare say we'll see it getting released at some point.

As metal or plastic though? Collector's range tends to be metal, but this is arguably too "chunky" (as noted above, previous GW dragons have tended towards the serpentine look because of the weight of the metal). If it's to be released as plastic, then why not do it as a proper kit anyway?

Besides, the Collectors' Range is pretty much a joke. A handful of character models ranging from the decent (Empire heroes), to useless (Pirate zombie) to horrible (Dreadlords).

In any case, the only medium that dragon could ever be cast in is resin, which isn't going to happen.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Why not? GW has done small scale resin casting before.
