Hi!

I'm starting an army of Khorne, and curious to know your thoughts on my list.

Headquarters- 140
Daemon Prince (Mark of Khorne, Wings)

Troops- 278
8 Khorne Berserkers (Skull Champion, Power Fist)
Rhino (Dozer Blade, Daemonic Possession, Combi-Melta)

Troops- 278
8 Khorne Berserkers (Skull Champion, Power Fist)
Rhino (Dozer Blade, Daemonic Possession, Combi-Melta)

Heavy Support- 150
Chaos Defiler (+2 Attack)

Total Points: 846
Total Models: 20

So what do you think? I'd like to go 4CCW on the defiler, but if the Battle-cannon is destroyed it would become immobilised, right?

Thanks!

Here's what I suggest. Bump those Khorne squads up to 10 men, to maximize the amount of poundage they get when they slam into the enemy. Remove all the upgrades for the defiler. When you use the battlecannon, it's ordanance so you can't fire anything else. A pieplate is gonna lay down more damage than anything else you can upgrade it with. If it's battlecannon is destroyed, then you march it up the field and start pumping reaper autocannon and other stuff into foes, get it into CC, and go to town. But really, the chance of it getting a destroyed weapon are pretty low, so I don't suggest upgrading the defiler. If you're going to put both squads in Rhino's, then your DP is going to take damage. I suggest removing a squad, putting the DP in a squad with some Berzerkers and max out that squad with as many as you can get. The more attacks you get in CC, the better.

The defiler doesn't have any upgrades, I just stated what configuration I took. Also, the DP is a monstrous creature so I can't stick him in a squad.

The only purpose of the heavy flamer really is to soak up that weapon destroyed result, but it can soften up an enemy if necessary. I'm thinking of trying to squeeze the lascannon option on it, but I wouldn't think I'd need it if I already have the DP, combimeltas, and battlecannon.

Alright. I've always needed a clarification on the DP in a squad. I've never found where it said they couldn't be in a squad in the WH40K 5th Ed rules but I suppose I've not looked too hard. I should ask a GW man at my shop to clear it up for me (page wise).

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

Might as well go for two Squads of ten on the KBs , and only take the powerfists if you are going up against an army you'd need them against. If you're worried about tanks or something take a squad of Chosen with Meltas, remember five models in the squad can take them and they infiltrate.

As for the Defiler I don't believe it becomes immobilized if the Battle Cannon is destroyed. So you could take it with the CQC weapons, but like Lorgar's Blessed said just field it standard for a bit, if you don't like it like that switch it.

Oh remember your KB are gonna be hitting a S5 I5 if you get the charge, so normal power weapons can do a lot of hurt.

Question to any, does the plus one strength from furious charge bump the Power fist up to Strength 10?

GW rules are permissive, if it doesnt say you can do something then you cant. The only things that can join squads are independant characters. Monstrous Creatures are not independant characters.

@ OP:

Demon Princes with MoK is the worst configuration you can give them. Instead have it with no mark and warp time instead. Call it 'Fury of Khorne' if you must, just lose that mark.

Your rhinos are far too expensive. They dont need demonic possession and they dont need a dozer blade. Get rid of both those upgrades and get more berzerkers

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Apparently I can remove a close combat arm for a weapon destroyed result, so I'm changing the original list to account for that.

You don't get to choose the weapon, the attacker does. Just Clarrifying.

DPs are MCs, not Independant Characters (According to my daemon codex at least. Assuming the true powers of chaos are more accurate than the silly mortals)

Since they are not independant, they cannot join squads.

MoS is the best mark do give a Prince (or Princess since it's Slaanesh) because of lash. It's even more imperrative you play with that mark since it seems you have little to no range, maybe even lose the defiler and get another MoS DP because Khorne is slow and needs to give your opponents incentive to move towards you (using the lash)
