ebay has decided to discontinue the "Dutch auction" format on May 6, 2009.
This is the system I use. It allows me to put up an auction with a set number of each item. Saves me money while putting up alot of stuff. Their greedy asses have taken notice.
Sad.

Aint that the truth. I used to sell on there alot, but then the fees started getting ridiculous. I pretty much use craigslist now but it still doesnt give the coverage that ebay does

Bartertown and the Swap Shop here and at Heresy are where I look for most of my previously owned 40k/WHFB models.
The wife and I used to post items on ebay, but as everyone has stated already it's gotten too expensive to do except on an occassional basis.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I had a negative experience on eBay as well. They took a bunch of my auctions down, claiming I could not offer check or cash payments, which I have taken for 10 years in my eBay auctions.
I am a 750 rating and have 10 years of history with 100% feedback rating...
Its obvious, they have changed their policy to only allow electronic payments so they get:
The listing fees
Any promotional fees
The final value fees
The paypal transfer fee
Then they encourage sellers to use free shipping, because buyers like it. The real reason, because a seller then has to build the price of shipping into their lot, which means FEEbay gets the percentage slice on even that.
Worse still, FEEbay has disallowed negative feedback from sellers AND created a tiered structure where if a seller does not have all perfect 5 star ratings for shipping costs, delivery time customer service etc, their listings get degraded in search results and they have to pay higher fees...
If your a buyer it's still a good place to look, there aren't to many drawbacks, but as a seller, you are basicly a slave...
FEEbay, that's awesome!

They have their pros and cons. We've been using them to move overstock from the shop, old models from the showcases, armies traded into the store, etc etc. Their main advantage is the large audience, and some of the controls they have for managing the auctions. I deal with "costs of doing business" everyday, ebay fees are just one more thing. Compared to my rent at the shop, it doesn't even budge the needle.
