I know it's not the best game, but does anyone here play it?? I run either UNSC Marines with a Spartan, but I'm currently working on a Brute Covanent Force.

I use the models to play space hulk.

I use aliens horrorclix for genestealers.

But to answer your question, I myself do not play haloclix, but the clix dynamic isnt without merit. it is just seen as a substandard mechanic by hobby snobs. The clicky ring you use to twist the tight based models doesn't help that to argue against the hobby snobs either.

I was thinking about using the USNC Marines as Drop Troops for WH40K and the Spartans as Inquisitorial Stormtroopers....

But getting a decent sized Marine force is a bit of a twist as you can't simply buy UNSC marines.....

in a singles market you can. Lots of places sell singles. Sadly though, if you want it just for a specific model, they can get expensive due to the nice dial they have in the base.

Blind buys for the lose.

sorry to hi-jack this thread, but whats the quality like? I mean, ok they're pre-painted, but I was hoping the details were good enough for a strip down and re-paint....

The advertising photos all seem somewhat blury, which makes me wonder about 1. what are they trying to hide? 2. Perhaps the scale is too far off to make them feasible?

Considering that most miniatures can be photo'd to show their detail and possible paint jobs, this aspect has me a little worried!

Like all prepaints from WK, they are kinda crap. This might give you an example of what they look like.

Space Hulk was an old board game that involved Genestealers vs Terminators.

They are pretty bad paint wise though, I'll give you that

No one around me nor in my former Clix group plays it, but I have tons of the things. Them never releasing the second set then getting shut down kind of killed the game.

I think no one playing it killed it more...

Wonder if I could turn the Scarab they made into a Tyranid Heirophant?

There was a dedicated group on the WKG forums. Even they stopped playing when there was no sign from above that neither the promised 2nd set(promised for release first in January following set 1 then stated the following March shortly after that) nor the Scorpion tank(originally scheduled alongside a Ghost 2 pack to follow 2-3 months after the Banshee) were ever coming.

hmmm, that's strange news. I hadn't heard that it'd shut down.

No wonder there aren't any new releases. Eh, i'll probably end up playing it casually just as a nice skirmish game.

That Space Hulk set looks above awesome....I may have to create something like that.

Taking a look at the photos, the ODST troopers look pretty cool, but where are these "singles market places" to be found. Every where I've looked appears to be sold out.

Wow. Thanks Captain Obvious. That one just flew waaay over your head.

The point was to answer delephont's question and show how the models for heroclix looked using the best source that I knew of.

That said, old or not, heroclix is laughable in comparison and the best thing to use heroclix for is models for other games....such as space hulk.

Catalyst Game Labs (the guys USING the licenses for Battletech and Shadowrun) are still in negotiations with Topps to acquire all of the former game systems that were Wizkids property. I haven't had an update in a while, but the talks continue.

Not ALL of them. Pinata Games(formed by the HeroClix design team) is in the works to grab Heroclix with funding aide from Catalyst.

Last I had heard they were just joining Catalyst's bid. The money they were throwing around made Pinata look somewhat silly, was the interpretation I got.
