Probably because at a GT, people will be hounding the GW reps to tell them more about upcoming releases for the rest of this year and next and GW refuses to come clean about that stuff anymore. GW no longer seems interested in captivating us with anticipation of future releases, until they're at our doorstep. We don't even have enough material for rumors...

So, no more blizzard of "Make me a list that will win all the tournaments!" Threads? Sounds like a winner to me.

Toronto Games Day is also still on - sceduled for June 20th.

My contact in GW told me some weeks ago that the LA GD was being cancelled this year. Unfortunately, we don't have anything like the Adepticon to replace it. Oh well.

Adepticon didn't just appear. It was a lot of work and time by dedicated gamers. Start working on your own version. Even if the first year is a small tournament or two day gaming event in a firehall, you can have a ton of fun, and start building it up. No reason to wait on GW to do it.

That's OK by me as I stopped going to the LAGD a couple years ago

OT: I wouldn't be surprised if they can LA GD, they killed Atlanta GD a couple years ago. In the end I'm sure it boils down to the almighty dollar. Although in my opinion, leaving one on each coast would be the best way to ensure the majority of fans can attend. Canning LA GD kinda leaves the entire west coast out in the cold.

Attendence for chicago GT was extreamly low and probably the reason why it was decided to not hold it again this year.

So if you went this past year and are disappointed that it isnt going to be there ... I know I am sad aswell.

If you didnt go and are mad about them not holding the GT then I suggest next time there is a GW event to pack up some armies and head on over.

They decided not to have a LA Games day months ago. I'm a Komando and we we told that last year. 2008 LAGD had record attendence so that wasn't the case. It's the most expensive GD to put on with having to ship everything cross country. I belive its to cut costs and they haven't told us there will be no more LAGDs. I hope we'll have one next year or the next.

If your looking for a west coast GT, my group and I are running a 5 round, 2 day 40k and Warhammer GT in October on the USS Hornet, in Alameda CA. We're hoping to have a website up soon to give out more info and let people sign up. I'll pass more info on soon. -K
