Been Around the Block




I'm new to fantasy, I want my Khorne lord on a Juggernaut to be the center piece of my army, as I think the model is amazing. As I'm quite new, I am just looking at some suggestions to fit the following three builds- 1. Super Killy 2. Super Durable 3. Well Balanced. Any good combos? Favorite builds? or just some advice?

Lord
Chaos Armour (4+ save)
Mark of Khorne (frenzy)
Juggernaught of Khorne (extra -3 to AS = now 1+ AS, MR1, fear)
Chaos Runesword (+1 WS, +1 St, +1 A)
Shield (now 0+ AS)
Crown of Everlasting Conquest (regenerate)

So a fear causer
7 attacks (CRS and frenzy) at WS9, St 6, -3 armour mod from the lord.
Then 3 WS3 St5 - 2 AS mod from the jugger.
Antything survives they attack back at:
WS 9, T5, , 0+ AS, then a 4+ regeneration save.

Put him in a unit of nurgle knights with banner of rage.(enemies will be a further -1 WS)

Super Durable: Armor of Damnation + Father of Blades: Enemies with ws 4-8 have a 11/36 chance of hitting themselves, 9/36 chance of hitting you. Then you've got your basic 0+ armor save as your defense.

Super Killy: Let's just go with the basics. You are on a jugger, so grab the Axe of Khorne and a Chaos Runeshield, or the Axe and the Helm of Many Eyes (if you can tolerate stupidity on your general). Then there's the flame blade. Flame blade + helm of many eyes is an absurdly brutal combo.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Super Killy: Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut, with Daemonsword and Enchanted Shield (yes, the common magical item).

You get a model with 5+1d6 Str 5+1d3 attacks (I assume no. of attacks maxs out at 10?).
The major drawback of the sword (hitting yourself on 1's) is weakened by having an armour save of (-1)+.

If (-1)+ saves aren't possible, stick with a normal shield. An interesting variant is a Sorceror Lord with the same magical items, for a lord choice with good magic and combat.

I like the no save sword as that will mess most things up pretty bad with no risks.
