I'm haveing the hardest time decideing between orks and tyranids. The only thing stoping me from playing tyranids is the cost of some of the models that i need/want for my army such as warriors, Ravener, ECt.

To be honest, many nid units (such as raveners, lictors, biovores) aren't so much worth playing at the moment due to be grossly underpowered for their points cost. The most crucial units you will want to buy are:
Tyrant
gaunts
gene stealers
carnifexes (carnifi?)
Plus, nids can at least have a decent shooting army if you choose to do so. I may be a bit biased towards nids seeing as I play them, but they are a very enjoyable army.

I say go nids. They're fun and easy to paint, and as The Dreatnote mentioned, everyone is playing Orks these days. Stick out from the crowd and build a cool tyranid army! They've got little gribblies and big guys too. What more could you want?

An all-blast-weapon-all-the-time warrior-heavy Nid army is relatively unique and quite powerful against enemy infantry.

The problem with Tyranids is the cost of warriors. 35$ for 3 of them is a bit much. The set for 3 fexs isn't bad unless it dosnt come with all the biomorph options. A zoanthrob(sry for the poor spelling) 20$ for one. wile ten more gets me a ork tank or trakk.
That and I liked the orks Biker warboss's fluff and the orks in greanal

Thank feth marines haven't come into the choices yet. I say go nids. Orks are cool, but it's the "soup d'jour", y'dig? Bugs are badass. However, consider how "winny" oyu would like your first army to be. With bugs, seeing as how they have an old codex right about now, you could be getting oyur ass handed to you for a while. But if you look around dakka and some other sites, you can find good lists and good ideas on how to handle inddividual units.
Bugs, dude. It's the only way to fly.

Personally, I run a Elite nid army, usually with one large brood of cheap gaunts to bulk up.
This type of army is especially good for meq armies. It requires lots of genestealers, warriors, a healthy amount of hive tyrants and carnifexs, and often some ripper swarms.
The easiest overall army to start with is usually Nidzilla or Elite. Swarm armies are traditional, but you need to be more tactically savvy to utilize them well.

Did you buy the codexes ? Did you read the rules for those armies ?
You say warriors are expensive, but if you go for orks, you'll end up buying lootas and/or nobs, that are in the same order or price.
(btw the 3-fexes set comes with all the biomorph options)
Keep in mind that the Nid codex should be redone in a not so far future (2010 ?); while the ork codex is not.
This will for sure come with new plastic models, that might address your issue.
Nids are fun to play, orks are also.
Both offer variety; orks however tend to be considered more cheesy these days, depending if you manage to restrain yourself and not fall in the classical builds, that aren't really fun to play against...

Tyranids are ace! I love the whole unstoppable horde and the idea that they are so single minded due to the Hive Mind that unlike other, more 'sentient' races, once the Nids arrive on a world the enemy knows that no diplomacy, no shows of force and no cries for mercy will stop them. It's also the fear they give the enemy, that they don't just kill you, they eat you (ultimately). Regardless of what other foe you are facing, even Chaos who steal your soul, there's a primal fear about being eaten.
....Sorry, I get really into my Nids.
Besides I love battles against Impish Guard and my sea of Nids, just like a certain Paul Verhovan film.
Nids are still pretty damn good in 5th ed, though I would like a new codex (Lictors need to be drasticlly revised they are far too expensive for what they can do). My list (1500 pts) is usually a Tyrant with 2 x scything talons and two tyrant guard, Tyrant with lash whip/bonesword and venom cannon, 32 hormagaunts, 16 termagaunts, 16 spineguants, an elite choice fex, winged warriors (talons/deathspitters and a venom cannon), raveners and two zoanthropes with catalyst and psychic scream. I decided to go for two Tyrants over multiple fexes as they have a higher initiative, WS and better BS (especially with the +1 BS adrenal gland).

I have both the codex's and I mean by expensive warriors is for a good swarm i need more then the six i have now and 3 models for 35$. seems a bit much. With the orks it just seems like i would get more for my money. The zoanthropes 20$ for one I just feel like ten more and you get a tank with orks. Do the zoanthropes come with any options model wise and dose it come built?
So far tho I'm liking tyranids.

Well, don't let cost get in the way of the army you like. The monetary cost for a 40k army is high, but the amount of time and energy you'll put into it is way higher, so make it something you'll enjoy painting.
the dirty secret is that nearly all 40k players have more than one army, and often have different armies for different styles of play: their hard core tournament army, their fun converted wacky army, their giant apocolypse army, etc.
For a first army, pick the fluff and models that you like the most, as long as the play style seems at all like something you would enjoy. Getting over the hump of having your first painted army is the challenge.

I think Nids and Orks appeal to the same kind of gamers. I have just had to stop collecting Orks (due to money reasons suprisingly enough) and I really liked their codex too. I was going to collect a speed freak army based around my conversion of Wazdakka Gutsmek (photos coming as soon as I borrow my mate's camera). I would have to agree with the above post. If you're going to invest the time, effort and money that the GW hobby involves I would always recommend doing an army that interests you over what you think would be a 'winning army'. In regards to the query around zoanthropes, they are pretty much a single piece model barring a pair of tiny arms on either side. They are pretty cool models though.

Zoanthropes come in several bits (4-6 I think), but there's only one way to assemble them. Would look awesome if converted well though.

I think that's why picking between them is so hard. I have the black reach set+some boyz worth of orks and Tyranids I have about 3,000 points worth of them but lack of warriors stops me from thinking to go with them. When I play larger games I tend to have my MCs die pretty quick and warriors tend to drop faster then they should. I only have 6 of them so I'm guessing that its normal for two squads of 3 to die pretty fast. So when they die the gaunt run off the table too much but most of the time my stealers out flank and help out so much.
should I have my force with sealers or infiltrate them?

I find that a dual scythed HT works better with wings and a barrier, simply because the tyrant guards slow him down massively. Plus, if you add wings to the tyrant, it has the option of deepstriking(!). I like winged warriors because they look simply awesome, but seeing as wings are generally expensive, I would rather equip fleet of foot or whatever it's called.
Generally I like HT's over Carni's simply because the Carni's BS and Init. are so low.
I will agree that nids are super fun to play.
